Choosing among Mitsubishi Strada, Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Xtrail.

Open to other suggestions in the same price price range.

    Thanks

Strada from among your choices for the simple reason na ito lang naaangkop (just because its a pick up) to have it lifted and fitted with other accessories (like snorkels) for fording flooded terrain.

But if the vehicle is just to to do the aforementioned task....I will spend my resources looking for an SR5 Toyota Hilux, have it lifted and fitted with the accessories just mentioned above. The old Nissan Frontier will be my next choice.

Sayang ang brand new isabak sa baha!

Strada among your choices pero mostly pick-ups can easily pass through floods. Gaano kataas ba yung usual na bahang dadaanan? Sayang nga naman talaga kung isasabak lang sa baha ang brand new pero better siguro if you look for a car that really serves a purpose, hindi lang yung puwede idaan sa baha.

of course, it's the one with the diesel engine! everyone knows diesel engines will keep on running even if submerged in water, as long as there's air and fuel going into it.
    seriously!

So, what will it be for the thread starter? A Strada, an Escape, a Tucson, or an Xtrail?

A gasoline car will run until the water seeps past the spark plug boots and causes cross-firing... Which would take a few minutes. If you vae a snorkel and the ECU is protected, you can make short crossings.

Perfect 'to for Manila. Heated spike for jaywalkers. Raised for floods. Cannon for buses. Smokescreen for ASBU. Twin engine nga lang. Aircon na lang kulang

Non ECU cars are more reliable to withstand floods than the new models. Sr5 and fj40 and the gen 1 and 2 stradas are my favorites.

Which one would be best driving thru floods?
