The 1.3A/T Vios is not a fuel efficient car, especially considering its engine displacement. But then, 200L naman ang gas allowance mo, given 7-8km/L city driving, that's around 1400-1600kms a month maximum. I'd still get this one though. Nakatipid ka sa initial depreciation at 5tkms lang tinakbo. Call me old fashioned, but I still prefer having four cylinders over three.

Are these really the only choices?

    ^^^ nah.

Finally got the new 1.3e with manual tranny earlier. It's still black, never mind if manual, i just love the head unit of it.

Everything is okay, except for the horn. A trip to my suking car accessory shop on monday will make it complete.

Acceleration. Super kupad ng AT. And better FC too. The AT has awful FC in the city, worse than an Altis.

Weird that Vios 3.0 is less efficient. It grew bigger but iirc, they were able to reduce the weight due to the materials used. It seems more aerodynamic too. A CVT or dual vvti for the facelift should be in order.

Maybe the current Vios chassis mated with the new Altis' 1.6L engine & CVT tranny would make one good package.

Will probably try a Tarlac-Manila measurement next time since SCTEX to Tarlac is much flatter than SCTEX to Subic. I might get better FC there.

As to the Vios running rich, I think it would've been better if they just improved the aux fan cooling of the car, especially since it's longer now with a bit more hood space than the gen 2.

Yup. I'm figuring it's part of the reason why the City is so much better on the highway. It uses a dual fan set-up and a smaller grille area. Taking both upper and lower (bumper) grille area into account, the City's frontal drag is tiny compared to the Vios, which has a three-piece grille, with a much bigger lower, feeding a smaller radiator and single fan.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
