i agree. but these hilux refers to the older ones like the hilux LN106 and older variants. They are equipped with solid axles up front and leaf springs on all 4 corners. "bullet proof" underchassis is what extreme off roaders refer them to be. The newer Hilux models: the LN166 (1998 up to the present) are now equipped with IFS, better handling in tarmac but a little disappointing on tough roads (plenty of things to replace when time to repair suspension).....
to the TS, IMHO, considering your road condition, the best for you would be a 4WD with a leaf or coil spring up front and equipped with a solid axle. Less complicated suspension and more durable than the IFS set up...
the drawback is that most newer 4wd are embracing the IFS set up, heck, even the most upscale Landcruiser and Patrol royale are on IFS...

I'd go for the Ford Ranger, currently the best selling pickup, coming from a personal experience, its fuel efficient, has the biggest towing and hauling capacity, biggest truck bed so far not sure if upcoming navarra and hilux would be as big.

If hindi pwede ang Innova dahil sasayad, bakit nasa list of options yung Hyundai Accent?
Fortuner/Montero/Mux ako dito. Fortuner has common parts with Innova. Montero has common parts with Adventure/L200/L300.
Imo built to last.. Ford everest.. Kung hindi man yan mu-x na.
Meron kaming Strada bro, GLS Sport V A/T.

just a side question, which will you choose
Hilux na Tested na or Hilux na new model
sa pickup sabi nila waste of space.
D-max and hi lux, if you need for your farm produce.
Wildtrak. Everyone wanted this truck.

We've had our Hi-Lander for more almost a decade already, no major problems encountered compared to our TDi Starex which was a few years younger than the Isuzu pa. That's why when we were looking for a new car last year, sakto dumating yung mu-X, yun na agad kinuha namin.
While higher output CRDis are getting more attention from the market, mas kelangan din daw nila ng attention from the owners. Siguro normal lang din to for new diesels? A lot of drivers tell us their experiences with modern Hyundai CRDis, which discouraged my parents to get the Santa Fe (we were close to getting it na hehe). Hehe. Joking aside, 5 months later, so far no regrets of choosing the mu-X. Matipid (4x2 A/T), maluwag (we're 4 in the family), practical. Hehe. Hopefully the experience of owning the mu-X will be comparable to the humble Hi-Lander.
Also, tried driving it on hilly and steep roads with 6 on board, kayang kaya naman. Plus the transmission works great kasi parang may automatic engine braking siya. Am I in need of extra horsepower? 85% no. Hehe.
Btw, the 2.5 is a NEW engine, and its bigger (older) brother is rated up to 500K KMs before major repairs start to come out. I guess the 2.5 has the same rating. Also, if you value safety features, add less than 100K and you'll get a better package for the 4x2 LS-A variant with stability and traction control.![]()
Kung built to last lang at easy to maintain no doubt Crosswind or Adventure.
