But does the 1.2L engine give better fuel economy than the 1.4L & 1.5L engines (Swift)? My relative is really keen on finding 1.2L swift, para matipid daw katulad ng mirage at wigo.

Engine displacement alone will not suffice as basis for fuel economy. You have to consider power-to-weight ratio, regular traffic routes, and the eagerness of the driver to floor the pedal.

A small engine pushing a bigger chassis will not help in fuel efficiency. Hellish traffic conditions will not help either. A driver who likes to redline the tachometer of a car is not that concerned with fuel efficiency.

Yup, I totally agree. I was saying it to my relative. But still he's convinced that the lower displacement, the more fuel friendly.

But for a Swift? Is the 1.2 enough to compete with the likes of Wigo, Mirage, Celerios in terms of fuel efficiency?

This one. Our neighbor had a gas Revo and an Expedition back in the 2000s and he says the Expedition actually sips less fuel than the Revo.

My 2009 yaris hb is going 190k. Its fun to drive, easy to park, petrol friendly and most importantly very reliable.

No. Pinakamatipid sa gasolina yung 1.4. Pinakamalakas 1.5. Generally speaking.

Recent review on the new Swift 1.2 said that it can go 11-13 km/l in city (15kmh) and around 18-23 Km/l at hiway. Chassis is also 30% stiffer and a lot more nimble than the previous gen 1.4L.

I'd take the swift vs the Yaris based on looks (personal opinion) and won't compare it to the likes of Mirage and Wigowho are a tad lower in class imho.

Maybe the all-new Swift 1.2 (4th gen) can give those figures. It's said to be lighter daw. But our 1.2, the ones released from mid 2014-mid-2018, (3rd gen), that's what I meant since we were talking about the secondhand market. The 1.4 is still thriftier.

What's the average FC of your Swift then?
And what year model of the Swift is the best (FC)?

i see "women" driving big pick ups, big suvs and such.
    "ok naman sila mag-drive."

malay mo, yung mga sabit na na-puna mo, ay galing kay mister at kuya, at hindi kay misis o ate.

some writers argue that women seem to make better pilots than men.

    btw,
what is the M:F ratio of the SUA ?

Women tend to generally take less risks(no ego to protect)...so safer pilots and arguably better drivers as well. Ive more accidents vs my sister so that means...

Pero if pilot as a general term eh ayoko babae lalo na dito pinas.

Eh gusto kadyutan talaga.

That's strange. None of my female colleagues or nieces drive like that.

the legend of the proverbial female driver and/or lady owner, is just that.

Dilemna ko din to, i luv hatchbacks. Pro other than yaris and swift, bet ko tlga ung jazz.

What I saw sa marketplace na swak at di nalayo sa budget is:

    2009 Jazz = 320k
    2010 Yaris = 260k
    2014 Swift = 280k

Kaya Im leaning to get the yaris na lng sana.
    Ano po inputs nyo? Thx.
Btw, manual trans sana kukunin ko sakali.

If you don’t mind a tighter and less versatile interior, pwede na ang yaris.

sagad na ba yung 300k budget?

kasi may pagagawa ka na sa 10 year old Jazz - naiisip ko na pwedeng tawaran yung 320k to 300.

Yaris should be very similar to the Vios, so easier ang parts and technically it's a bigger car than the Swift

If budget is an issue, based on your choices, Swift vs Yaris

Yung rarity ng yaris (lumang gen), knowing that its a T-Badge, tapos yung market price nya, parang sulit.
Pero iba tlaga yung Jazz. Kaso kung ang price difference nya is almost a bnew motor, parang kakahinayang.
