Will the first gen yaris be a good buy rather than the likes of mirage hatch gen 1?

Post-Echo previous gen Yaris? Yes. Search for well kept ones.

How about Swift Dzire? I am wondering why it has a low resale value. For a 2013 model, you can get it at 240k. Is there something wrong with it?

And that's it? Yeah, muka nga. Alanganin yung trunk nya. Parang pilit na ginawang Sedan lang. But for reliability, and fuel efficiency, is it worth it?

Swifts aren't really swift & the Dzire isn't really desirable. Worth is relative. There are a number of alternatives in this segment.

it had the same dis-advantage of the swift hatch... it had a very small rear passenger space.
and its small rear trunk did not quite go well with the small rear passenger space.

as a pang-binatang car, that rear trunk did not do it any justice.
as a family car... only if the family members are small in stature.

so... not for binatas, not for families.

    the new dzire, however...

Yes. Strangely, i like the new dzire sedan and the previous swift hatch more compared to their counterpartsl (old dzire and new hatch).
