Yup, better check them out sir.

Aba, may isang fanboi pala ditong ayaw magpatalo kahit na in real world eh talo na?
D-Max, Strada, o Hilux? Kung base model usapan, Strada o Hilux lang. Kung isasama ang Ranger, posible pa ito. Pipiliin ko lang ang D-Max kung ang usapan eh 4x4 3.0 4JJ1 Engine or much better, Alterra
Yup, and you can get the Dmax LX 4x2 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ for less than PhP1.0 M which the thread starter is aiming at, budget-wise....
If the thread starter is a good manual-transmission driver, he can potentially get plus 20.00 km per litre fuel mileage on the LX 4x2 model out from the 3.0-litre CRDi engine, in combined freeways (expressways) and provincial road networks, as established already by the Automobile Association of the Philippines in October 2010.
Yan chief ang real life na sinasabi mo hehe![]()
Pwede na rin pala pang tapat tong dmax sa all new mirage, 21km/liter ang claim ng mitsu. Hehehe

Hi jacob, here are my comments:
Strada: This is the most comfortable ride, most human-pampering suspension among the three. It also has the highest horse power rating on paper among the three but only by a small margin. The most stylish among the three in my opinion, and has high ground clearance. Pick this if you just want the overall versatility of a pickup, but wouldn't ready use it for extreme hauling and more of everyday driving.
Hilux: Being a Toyota, it has the advantage of having cheap and available genuine parts everywhere, and Toyota is also known for good after sales service. Ride quality is so so, same as the new Fortuner, but stiffer than the Strada, it provides better handling in exchange for comfort. It has a good balance of high clearance and the capacity to handle off-road punishment. Hilux is a bit bulgy in terms of design but find that more "macho". In the past there were reported problems in the D4D engine, but this issue is I think fixed in the new models. Pick this if you want a very balanced vehicle for both personal and business use, while having the Toyota brand advantage.
Dmax: Significantly higher fuel efficiency among the three. It also has engine durability and reliability with no known common engine problems despite poor local diesel quality. It has the most simple but pleasing truck-like design. It is also has the most loaded entertainment system among the three. Ride quality is stiffer but by a small margin compared to Hilux, but better handling and lower center of gravity. Provincial owners find this a very reliable pick, and has decent capacity to handle off-road punishment. Pick this if you want a durable and capable work horse where the most minimal maintenance is needed.
In the end, you can't go wrong with any of the three. The advantage points are not too far off from the other two, I guess it really boils down to personal preference. HTH

I hope you won't jump into conclusions without driving one everyday. My parents own an Alterra, same engine and internals as a Dmax, and I'm always excited to drive it since it really has power to deliver, even if it has low horse power readings on paper. Try driving one with heavy loads and compare the same use case to the other 2. Cheers =)
^I believe the base model that the TS is referring to is the LX model with the 4JJ1 engine, and not the fleet-minded LT model with the Crosswind engine.
basta ako happy ako sa strada ko next year hilux naman tapos kung kakayanin rangerayoko ng dmax halos dito samin matatanda may dala ng dmax tignan niyo kung sino an walang club hindi naman sa wala pero konti nasa age din kasi hehehe
