On the drag strip it will eat other 1600 cars stock-to-stock but on a technical track, the Civic SiR would have a harder time and i would see other "lesser"sedans (even a Sentra 1300) giving off better bracket times. This is mainly due to the engine powerband coming in at high rpms.
7000rpm(160hp) won't be problem on a technical track if the driver knew how to blip the throttle. The car won't be the reason if it loses to some other cars. The hp of a 1600 dohc to a 1300 is quite glaring to ignore.
