First gen City 1.3 only had 95 hp. It's the VTEC 1.5 D15 City that made 115 hp (offered when the SX8 had a facelift). I've driven the 1.3 AT and it was slow as hell to respond, like most 90s ATs. Chassis felt very light and nimble, with almost no insulation, but steering wasn't as responsive as a Civic's. Suspension felt less planted too, coupled with the skinny tires.

Bro Jut what model year and trim
The one we have is the 1998 honda city a/t 1.3 d13b4 with 95hp and it sports a 96' ek civic oem rims from the factory
and it has decent acceleration. I agree it's not as respponsive as any honda but it handles good for a small sedan.
it was one of few sub-compacts with a fully independent rear suspension that was dropped in the later models due to its high cost.
according to reviews it does 171km/h and 0-100 in 11.3 secs compared to the d15 sx8 which does a 10secs flat
Anyway do you also think that it is the best city?

Personally, I still don't trust kimchi cars.

For overall use and reliability i'd still go with japanese brands.

Which should one choose? Japanese, American, European, Korean or Chinese?
