Maybe that is why he has so much cash. He'll have less cash after he gets a GF Guy friends ko may budget from salary for dates. Then gifts and travel etc

Not worth spending money over if you will only use it on weekends. I agree, get a used vehicle. It will help you learn about cars pa. Why not use your family's car to learn to drive?

I have to be honest, 28 is kinda old na nga for a guy to not know how to drive. Turn off nga yun hehe

But the car is with you, in your house. And I assume you've had several cars before that

I'm waiting for uls to see this thread and his explanation on what car ownership entails. Two reasons why TS has so much cash: no gf and no car. Hehe. Seriously though.

i learned to drive at 28.
that was the time i could already afford to buy my own (used) car with my own money.
i didn't want to ask for car money from my parents.

adjusted for inflation, it was nowhere near 1M, my bank account was.

and yes, take the advice from the others.
buy real estate. its value will only increase. hindi pa nababangga.
just don't buy where they will put up a big road or lrt.
    heh heh.

Suggestion. Take the 2m and buy some lots in your province. Save the 1m for emergency.

Kung cocomputin mo ang parking cost, makikita mo dun madrdrain ang pera mo. Plus the gas prices pa ngayon.

Definitely no. Unless dun sa sobrang layo.
Pede naman sya mag loan kung gusto ni ts. Pero kung sa MM lang, I'll buy a townhouse or lot na lang instead of a condo.

Thanks ulit sa mga sumagot. I won’t disclose my salary here hehe. Pero I work as software engineer. Earning that amount of money is indeed an accomplishment for me but I would say it is not easy. Your mind is always stressed and tired plus many times you sleep less than 4 hours. Actually it is recently that I realized na tumatanda na ako and I dont want to continue working for money forever so I plan to somewhat giveup my side lines and maybe have a more human life style hehe.

Anyway, actually naconsider ko na rin buying a townhouse pero I am single pa naman and I do not have yet any plans to settle on a specific location. Unless ipa-rent ko yung mabibili kong townhouse.

if you do not have the gift of investing,
buy that townhouse. don't forget the garage!
mabuti na yung naka-garahe na yung salapi mo, so's you don't spend it all in a manner you will regret later.
you can always sell it or rent it out, should you be forced by circumstance to go back to the province and live in your inherited house.
    heh heh.

    btw,
a car is not an investment.
it is akin to adopting a baby that refuses to grow up.
translation: it will always be in need of maintenance and repair money.

    hobby?
    try woodworking.
    ma-u-upuan mo pa.
    literally, "resting on your laurels".

    puede na.
    dependa lang kung saan.
metro manila is a big place. the exactsame condo unit can sell within a range of one to two times asking price, depending on where...
for example, a condo in my very commercial workplace asks for 4M. a similar condo elsewhere, but definitely not the boondocks nor the slums, can be had for 2.5M.
parking slot is additional... 0.5 - 1M siguro.

A condo at pioneer cybergate will cost P2M and you are in the middle of those BPOs and corp offices.

Hi guys! Thank you again for your advices. I truly appreciate that.

Thanks for the compliments about how much I saved Ang sarap pala sa pakiramdam na naprepraise ka ng ibang tao sa savings achievement. I do not disclose my savings to anyone in real life. But one factor how I was able to save this much was because wala akong family na sinusuportahan. My parents own a small business so konti lang inaabot ko sa kanila monthly. My siblings are also in IT industry, finished studying and still all single. Hindi rin ako magastos sa gadgets and no vices though this year I decided to travel just to take a break from time to time. However, this thread gave me realization na I need to invest din and not just to let sit it in the bank. Naconsider ko na yung purchasing a condo then ipaparent sa iba. But after ko icompute yung estimated earnings ko per year, almost 5% lang yung na-eearn ko anually from my initial investment compared if ilagay ko ung pera sa banko. Still, malaki pa rin un though hindi siya liquid. Or better invest in stocks na lang... How about townhouses kaya? Since I do not have a family yet, I’m pretty sure ipaparent ko lang un. Mahirap tumira magisa sa bahay hehe. Another one is start with franchise business.

BTW, I have decided to learn muna how to drive since I think that is the first step before owning a car. After that, I’ll visit each brand car dealership (mazda, honda, toyota and chevrolet) to test drive some of my shortlisted cars plus the car recommendations here in this thread.

Right now, I do not have any gf yet I am also somewhat introvert and do not have any friends. I also do not have a hobby. Is it a good idea to learn how to drive then buy a brand new car worth 1M for me just to make it a hobby? 1 M because that’s the only lowest price of the car na may side airbags (safety kasi yung main concern ko.) I really want to learn how to drive car and syempre, I want to drive my own car after I learned driving. And also, I want to attract girls din and syempre mas convenient na pumunta sa nililigawan ko pag may car ako. Problem is, baka iuwi ko lang yung cAr sa province and baka hindi ko rin siya magagamit lagi since may work ako weekdays. Do you think it is a good decision po?
If you can live without a car, no need.

Try to find your own property (a nice, decent condo unit and maybe a lot in your province or preferred settle down place later on).

Enjoy life. Mas valuable ang time. Experience things, socialize, mag gf ka, own a pet, sumali ka sa organizations sa field mo, buy things that you desire, travel, food trip, kain sa mga resto na mahirap ipronounce yung menu items, hanap ka ng hobbies na magugustuhan mo.Pwede mo naman gawin lahat ito na hindi nasasacrifice yung savings mo. Lagi ko nga sinasabi balanse dapat, work hard, party harder!

Youre Still allowed to make mistakes anyway.

Oldies mga tao dito, doon ka sa manila tonight hingi ng advise kung buhay pa yun site.

Tanong mo tao dito kung ano ginagawa nila nun 28 sila. Probably enjoying life...

Pero pinaka advise ko eh, know *cathy more. She can give you life lesson. Parang maging mentor mo siya. [emoji1360]

    Two questions lang:

    Can you afford it?
    Will it make you happy?

If yes to both, go for it. Your life, your happiness.
