My newly acquired S.I.R (That I got at 305T), valued at 350T, opened swap sa picanto... kaya naka interested ako kasi brandnew, pero I think the base price is way too much (595T).. Although KIA gives the highest appraisal in terms of trade-in..

Nagandahan din ako sa picanto kasi cute, pero wala po sila unit for test drive. Are the cosmetics easily get tear? I heard kasi after few months for driving, daming ng loose ends sa interior making it noisy.

What you think po? maganda po ba ang deal? S.I.R + 245T swap with a picanto.
It all boils down to this...Do you really need a Picanto over an SiR?

Ang mahal naman ng Picanto, for 650k Sentra 1.3 GX A/T na lang ang bibilhin ko.

Why would you swap one of the most sought after car from the late 90's to a brand new tin can?

You can't compare the prices of the Avanza/Vios and the Picanto... the Picanto is severely handicapped due to the extra taxes imposed on it, since it comes from outside the ASEAN.

The i10 is priced lower than a similarly specced Picanto because it's built in India, with lower labor costs than Korea.
What about the Getz 1.1L? Almost about the same spec as the Picanto 1.1L, also CBU from Korea but is only priced at 498K? About 100k less than the Pica 1.1 MT. Moreover, the Getz 1.4L AT same spec (it even has power side mirror not available with the Picanto)with bigger engine and AT cost 588K even less than the Pica MT with even bigger engine (1.4L 94hp) and AT.

It's a model that's going out of production. It'll be replaced by the i20, which will be more expensive. But until then... it's a good bargain.

He's alive, isn't he? If he were driving a 90's compact, like an old Sentra or Lancer, his chances of survival would have been much lower. The Picanto's unibody is actually pretty decently stiff... and it has crash survivability comparable to a 2000 year-model compact.

Now, if he were in an Aveo...

I like my SiR, but the idea of a brand new car over a used is also favorable...

Bottomline forget the Picanto. Just get a Getz or an i10 if you decide to swap your SiR.

Niky, even during in the middle of its cycle, the Getz offer better value than the Pica. It started in 2005 with an SRP of 419K for the 1.1L pre-facelifted model. Now, a similarly equipped facelifted model is only 498K. The Pica, meanwhile started at 319K in 2004 and now sells for a whopping 595-610K for an MT model.

Yup. I wanted to get a Picanto early on... but didn't quite make the trade in... after the first year, the price had already shot up to 425-475k...

Problem is Kia-Columbian doesn't seem to have quite the clout of HARI when it comes to negotiating with the mother company... or it could be a case of "not broken, doesn't need fixing..."... if they can still sell the Picanto at these prices, what incentive is there to lower it?

All back seats near the windshield are unsafe... remember the people who died in the Everest on the NLEX last year? Second row pa yun.

Fifth Gear did a test with an Opel Zafira... which is a bigger car... rear-ended it with a truck... third row seats were really dangerous to be in.

If I drove a Picanto, the rear passengers will be having a lot of trouble. But it's avoidable if my belly touches the steering wheel. Not the case on the Avanza.
