Hi
This is the first time I will post a thread here in tsikot and I hope I will have a good input on you guys.
I'm having a dilemma right now on choosing what car to buy. Please help me choose the right one.
1st Civic 2001 VTI manual
86K mileage
newly replace shocks (front)
with new foglights ok naman and ride at body some minor hairline scratch sa bumper
Price is 335K (sagad na daw)
third owner na ko nun.
2nd Vios 2004 1.3e manual
Both cars are in good running condition already done a test drive.
This will be an upgrade from my LEC sentra. Please help...

namamahalan ako sa VTi although i like it better than the Vios or baka ako lang yun, kasi kuripot talaga ko tumawad sa kotse. Matipid kasi yung VTi but roomier than the Vios.
Sir have scouted for an 2002-03 Civic LXi? Baka halos same price lang. wala din naman airbags at abs ang VTi same lang sa LXi. Main difference is smaller wheels and 1.5L (110hp) engine. Pag swertehin ka pa, baka yung facelifted pa yung makuha mo.
ganito ichura pero maliit mags

November 24th, 2009 10:57 AM #3Consider to your purchase the possible conditions:
*Maintaining cost with spare parts
*Drive comfort (on your preference)
*Overall condition both internal and external (Bring a trusted mechanic)
*Average using condition such as # of pax, desired fuel efficiency, average distance per use
Both cars are good in my opinion, although the civic is priced high, it all boils down to your needs and preference... I'm a Toyota owner and I can atest that my vios is very reliable

The Civic is obviously more powerful than the vios.
This Civic ( I think ) is prone into rusting roofs
Fuel Consumption is higher than of the vios.
The Civic isn't old-looking though.
My pick ? For city driving, get the vios. For some highway drives, get the civic ( well consider though if it's in the best shape )

November 24th, 2009 08:08 PM #5has the civic's timing belt been changed? Transmission oil been changed?
Let the previous owner change it, before u buy it. Good deal na yun, pag ganun.

a 2004 VIOS with 126K mileage? around 25.2K km per year? that mileage is too large. bug-bog na yan. and remember the VIOS is a low end model for toyota while the Civic is a mid model (akin to the Altis for toyota) for honda.
find a better deal than this VIOS. With that mileage it should call for a cheaper price than the 300K++ pesos asking price.
The civic has a 10.75K km per year usage. still high but better than the vios.
other factors should be taken into account but overall that particular vios is a bad deal.

Pero interior ng both cars are in good condition.

As long as it is valid, bring a printed copy. Then, they will ask you to use one of the PCs there...
