Same ang engine code with Fortuner (1KD-FTV) but different output. Probably an improved version :

    Prado : 170hp, 410NM
    Fortuner : 163hp, 343NM

Check out the classified ad section (Sundays) of Manila Bulletin. Usually there are ads there (dulo ng car section, after the European brands).

R33 sa Oritgas (near Alexandra, I believe), Timog Auto Gallery, etc.

Grey market cars aren't usually covered by warranty. The local Toyota dealer can service your car, but no warranty definitely.

I have an 04 Pilot with 37,000 miles on it and it's still super smooth and not a single problem.
PILOT = 8 seater, very reliable , best buy SUV here in the US on its category,
Full time AWD, very good accelaration , powerful , high torque but smooth engine and tranny, smooth ride , side curtain airbag , 4 star on rollover, 5 star on crash test, etc = a real baby sitter. It's not as good as Prado on Off Roading but how often do you really go off road ?
Do you really wanna risk breaking of something on a 2.7 million car ?

You don't have to go off roading, the roads in the Philippines is already considered off road compared to US roads. Long term the body on ladder frame chassis of the Prado will have less flex as it ages compared to the unibody of the Pilot after exposure to such bad roads. Besides the Prado is a Lexus here in the US.

I'd never buy an SUV w/o a chassis.

Nako, sawang-sawa na nga sa driver eh. Lalo ng pag nagoovertake, feeling ko bumababa talaga sa first gear sa sobrang diin ng apak. Pero hindi ko ginagawa yun, tamang pitik na lang. hehe!

gray market may nakita ako 2.8m dubai spec 4.0L v6 with 250hp. i think this is the better buy.
Maybe TMPI read the Toyota D4D Engine Woes thread and at some point decided against upgrading the local Prado for fear of pissing off some wealthy bigshot.

The Pilot still has a chassis it's just a unibody design similar to a car instead of a ladder frame. It might be tough to have a vehicle without a chassis since there would be no place to put the engine.

Hehehe! Good point. Although there are quite a number of bigshots pissed off with their Fortuners, there are probably gonna be more affected bigwigs if it happens to their Prados. Anyhow, on a different point, TMPI has definitely got to fix their D-4D.

The X3 is pretty small, AFAIK, and not really comparable to either of the two.

I'd take the X5 diesel, though... that's one fast diesel truck.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
