fast forward to 2016...

my friend's office will give 1.2M cash to buy vehicle as a benefit (aside from 300liter gas and monthly maintenance).
buying something lower than 1.2M will put a waste on the excess money on the company benefit as the money will not be given to my friend. also, my friend is willing to add some cash if the cost of the vehicle really is worth it.

currently my friend has 2013 montero GLX and 2013 altis 1.6v. one has to go when the new vehicle comes in.
selling the montero will give my friend more cash than selling the altis.

what should my friend buy? and what to sell?

montero standard gls is 200k discount - 1.350M nalang
everest ambiente - 50k discount - 1.349M nalang
mu-x 3.0 is 30k discount - 1.408M nalang
fortuner G diesel a/t - no discount - 1.476M pa

escape 1.6 ecoboost - 430k discount. yes. 430k. - 1.060M nalang
rav 4 active - no discount - 1.263M
tucson 2.0 GL diesel AT - 100k discount - 1.248M nalang
subaru xv - 80k discount - 1.248 nalang (free 1 yr PMS)

CX5 or Forester for me, just heard from a friend na ang Subaru Forester nagbibigay ata sila ng 300k discount for old stock but brand new models ask or visit the nearest dealer nalang to confirm.

Or baka puede nila tangalin ang 3 year free PMS for CX5 baka aabot na sya sa 1.2m budget mo hehe

Wala na 2015 new old stock or 2016 pre-facelift Forester sa mga Subaru dealers. They were sold out last month. They do offer 80k discount plus free 1 year maintenance for the 2016 facelifted models.

personally know 2 people with 3 year old tucsons. one had to uber extensively for two months as the tucson was stuck in the casa, awaiting parts.

other one had repeated problems with transmission.

both swear never to buy hyundai ever again.

so it isnt really the cars problem itself but the casa or mechanic competency issue.

hi tsikoteeers. I just want to have your opinions in my situation. here it is,
I'm having a car perk in our company. They will be shouldering 50% of the car's unit price with a 600k limit. so all in all sana I have 1.2M budget. gusto ko sana bank loan, 50% down tapos the other 50% 5 years to pay. What car can you suggest with that budget? either SUV or sedan? preferred ko sana A/T.

-I'll be the one driving it from home to office. Mandaluyong-Ortigas lang.

-3 lang kami sa family. me, mama and my brother. baka hiramin ng kapatid ko minsan kasi college pa lang yun. hehe. (and also first car pa lang po namin to)

-sometime out of town siguro with family. and maid pag-pupunta ng grocery.

If i were in your shoes, i'd go for Hyundai elantra. pogi tignan tipid pa sa gas tsaka di ka maprapraning sa maintenance and low lang ang monthly payment
