I like the M/T better. It makes me feel in better control. But then again, there's no traffic on my route to and from work so I don't mind a manual. Another advantage, I let my battery die. Pag inabutan sa labas, push start na lang
Then I go home and call motolite. Hehe.
Kung traffic sa route mo, you might consider an AT.

right!
i have not yet seen an AT or CVT that allows me the fingertip (o sige.. toe-tip) control offered by MT.
that CVT over-ride.. "manu-matic" as others refer to it.. it's next to useless, in my opinion.. its effect is minimal, unless you aggressively push the pedal..
pag AT ang dala ko, lagi akong "na-sisingitan.." dahil mahina ang acceleration..Last edited by dr. d; October 1st, 2015 at 11:41 AM.

isa ako dito.
i prefer using the MT because of the control... maski trapik pa yan.
kaya mas lagi kong gamit yung altis na MT ko, kesa dun sa MS ko na matic na pinapagamit ko kay misis.
si misis naman, medyo matagal na nag drive, pero di talaga nya magamay ang MT....

Only true for CVTs and older 4 speed AT transmissions without manual mode. Most of the newer non-CVT automatics with manual mode are very good. In manual mode, upshift is very quick. Downshift not as fast, but fast enough as any decent manual driver. Can easily downshift if needed for that boost in acceleration. If you've ever tried a DCT, you'll be floored at how quick it shifts. That's why Porsches with PDK/DCT have ridiculous acceleration. They shift faster than a human possibly can.

Gandang ganda ako sa CVT ng Subaru. Was a non-believer before, but when I tried it, mas ok power delivery niya because of better ratios compared to a traditional AT. I drove the Forester 2.0 and CX-5 2.0. I thought the Forester would feel too heavy but it's actually the CX-5 that feels sluggish at 40-80 kph because of the long second gear.

Pair that DCT with a turbo and you'll smile how quickly it shifts. Problem though is that DCT is clanky in low crawling traffic, conditions where you switch constantly between 1st and 2nd gears. On a straight though, once it gets into into 3rd gear and with continuous gas input, 4th & 5th gears passes quickly and you're already on 6th gear.
