You know from a stoplight just blasting away and leaving everyone else (and yes the gas fed cars) eating your dust Yung gas kasi mahina torque sa lower bands kailangan rev higher pa just to get a decent torque but then sa CRDi 2000 RPM ang lakas na ng torque...

hey hey hey..no need to fight over which car is better. I am sure this thread is started to be a basis in choosing which among the "two cars" is better suited for the person buying and not as a venue to brag about a the car we own and bash the other.

I am a carens owner therefore I can only speak of my experience with the carens. I don't think the livina is a bad car after all nissan has quite a good reputation in reliability and performance.

What I would just suggest to some guys here is to be careful in bashing kia/hyundai. The reliability issue, bad design that is a thing of the past, kia/hyundai can be trusted now. I am speaking from my own experience as well as those of people I know who owns a kia/hyundai vehicle 5 years or later. I can tell you that the carens (getz and rio) that I have driven is a joy to drive. Our carens is a year old and it drives the same if not better than when we first got it. I drive fast whenever I can (with the carens its hard not to ) but I get an average of 12 km/l consumption; 18 is the best figure I got (pure highway no traffic) and 7-9 is my worst (heavy traffic). If I will intentionally drive not as fast as I normally do to conserve fuel, I have no doubt I can have better fuel mileage.

I don't have anything (bad or otherwise) to say againts the livina, I've seen it in showroom and was impressed by it, it don't look bad at all. But I like the carens better because of the flexible seating configuration (2nd and 3rd row is foldable to many different configuration), it serve our needs better.

Sa nagbabasa ng thread na ito. Test drive both cars, spend some time looking at the interior, imagine yourself using it on a daily basis, and ask yourself which car will fit your (and your family's) needs better.

Lastly, I said in my previous post that the carens is now overprized for what it is. That is correct but it is not Kia or carens fault that Columbia suddenly decided to be greedy and raise the price too much. Take the carens for what it is, it's a good car.... and so is the livina.

    Choose well future owners....

PS: To the people at columbia, I am not sure if you are really the one to blame for the huge price increase of Kia vehicles. If I am barking at the wrong tree here, explain yourself here. I just wonder why the price increase is the highest here in the Philippines as compared to the other countries. Even, HARI's price increase is not as big.

I am still don't believe this figure and I am as brave as kahit sasakay ako sa oto mo at sabay nating itest yan.

im not here to convince you if you are such a skeptic. unlike econo runs, im a real owner using real world conditions. and yes, i did a brim to brim fill up. filled up at to the brim in manila, then pagdating sa legazpi, filled to the brim again. then, checked the kilometers traveled divided it by the liters used.

i myself was astounded. but come to think of it, i once had an 18.++ km/l before, but only about a 200 km. trip.

if you dont believe me, its ok. no problemo. mine's a manual tranny by the way. and always have in mind that drivers drive differently. factor in fact that the trip to bicol hardly one encounters slow traffic at all.

just because your previous experiences seem not to support my findings, well, that doesn't justify you to insinuate that i'd be making up stories. ano ba naman makukuha ko.

    merry christmas.

yes sir, what we got is a manual tranny too. just to note that I never got to repeat that again. tsamba, there was no traffic at all when we left early morning.. laguna to nueva ejica. most of the time e freewheeling on the slex/nlex lang.

But I would like to re iterate that the average of 12-14 km/l is easy. I'm not writing this to brag or make a believer of skeptics, just telling you my own, actual experience. Sa totoo lang masaya na ko sa 12 km/l. what makes me really happy with the carens is the power i have at my disposal when i need it, bonus na lang na matipid din ang consumption. my analogy is, its like we got a the power of a 2.4 liter v6 (not as powerful but close) with the consumption of a 1.8 sedan with the carens.

fc from my a/t carens in highway(manila to pangasinan) is 15km/l. average speed is 100-120 kph.

in city driving im averaging 8-9km/l. puro short trip lang. from office to work is about 3-4 km lang.

Para sa mga readers, better ask the main user rather than data like this nor the petron ex challenge etc...ask ung mismong user ng isang car kung ano talaga ang FC ang nakukuha nila at yun ang paniwalaan nyo at doon kayo mag base. Talk to different person and you will get the true answers.

It would have been bad if I had invented these figures myself or if I took out these figures from a publication in Pluto!

But why would you immediately put forward your opinion that these figures are not to be trusted? Can you really present then some proof on why they should not be taken well? Don’t generalize just because you think that the government cannot be trusted or that the entire system sucks.

Even the figures presented here are subject to scrutiny and I think those figures are not perfect but that’s how close they can be. You just don’t go around here telling readers that these numbers often lie. But if you really intend to do this by principle, then present some proof and we could also second guess and back you up at the same time.

I also posted my real FC, not just to brag but to tell to the world an honest to goodness data (you even praised my data in the Kia Fuel Consumption database) – if you notice, its not even close to being ideal-which brings me to ask you this question – Do you only tend to believe on something that’s not ideal and you tend to dismiss hard to believe statistics as fiction. Sorry but that’s just how I see it. Those FCs are the figures of Carens owners and drivers. But I also believe that Livina is capable of the same FC. Ganda rin kasi ng Livina but I'm happy with my Carens.

I believe forum members and readers are intelligent enough to discern fact from fiction. Just give them the figures and they decide for themselves. And I’d just like to remind you – magiging target lang ng mga ganitong posted FC ang mga hindi informed readers. An informed reader is someone who is given a lot of choices-be they good or bad.

And an informed crusader (like you) should not immediately condemn these options that were just presented.

Again, peace brother and Merry Chrismas.

Merry Christmas din to all tsikoteers, hehehe...parang naging mainit ang December.....

Share ko lang, in Dubai, a hyundai Sta Fe cost around 79000 dirhams or around 1,050,000 pesos, same price ng LX Carens. Ganon katindi kumita ang CAC.

And for prospective buyers of MPV, aside from test driving these 2 good cars try to read the threads of both GL and Carens and you will get info direct from the owners. Dito kasi sa thread na ito ay mostly positive aspect lang napo-post (i mean for both car) so to know also the negative side better check the individual threads (i know nobody will contest my suggestion).

GL in US? It is only a matter of time. GL in Brazil on 2009 was not even in news few months back.

    still i believe....

    SHARING IS CARING.....

To All that i hurt and offended, sorry..hindi ko po sinasadya

    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54686

lets just back to the topic

    Carens vs Livina....

Nissan Livina or Kia Carens
