There are no more TDCis, but it's not because the Santa Rosa plant is shutting down. The TDCi was never built in the Santa Rosa plant. The only product line for the local market built in Santa Rosa over the past three years was the Escape.
Best bet is to hunt the dealers with remaindered stocks on sul!t.com.

Altis 1.6 or Elantra 1.6. Altis possibly slightly better... But only a head to head will tell. elantra has a 6AT, which should prove good on the highway. I've driven it, and it seems capable of 18+.
The 1.6s are all kinda bare, pero I prefer the Elantra 1.6. Lots of legroom, huge trunk, and ride comfort similar to the Altis, even though the handlong is very sharp.
