Di naman po gaano big deal yung bagong montero kasi only a facelift not all new. One more thing innova will be due for all new i think, 2005 pa yung current na kaha eh, naka ilang facelift narin.

If you are planning to have the vehicle for a long time, say about 4 years or more, you also have to consider the cost the things that needs replacement like tires.
But if you can afford it, I think montero is the better choice.
nasolve na ba ng toyota yung d4d problems or even the deforming gas tank of the petrol version?(same real problem with the navara)
never heard any problems with the monty, the sua rumors is just a rumor unlike the d4d which a lot of tsikoters has encountered an experience.
the only bad thing about the monty is the sheer no. of it you see on the streets which is actually a good thing since more parts... ah one more bad thing about the monty are the haters at yung isa andito sa tsikot.
mas malamig aircon ng innova kasi dati yung montero front and thrid row aircon vents lang ang meron at napakaliit pa ng third row aircon vents now pati second row may aircon vents na.
dont get me wrong innova is the best in it's class but the monty is on a whole different level
best value for money?
if your looking for an auv vs. auv - innova wins
BUT based from the facts an suv vs. auv- sayonara innova
both are cheap to maintain in my point of view- di ka naman magpapalit ng gulong every year or every pms, just follow your pms and you would be fine-
We have the same observations on the A/C.
If this is the underlying reason in buying a vehicle, the Innova is indeed the choice (that's why we've already gone through 3 Innovas in our garage since 2005).
If the Monty is due for a facelift, maybe they'll be giving better discounts this time. You may also want to compare the PMS costs of both cars if you're on a strict budget.
Montero Sport GLX is TCi(?); And, I assume that for the same price, you are referring to the Innova G Diesel which is D4D...
Magkaiba ang makina niyan.... That of the MS GLX variant is a generation ago compared to the Innova's D4D,- and with that the MS's may be prone to emission issues.
19.9K:cheer:
the D4-D issue on the IMVs has long been dead.
that's why when I drove my officemate's 2012 GLS-V during a lunch out in our office, i validated already na may pagka-weak ang aircon ng Monty dahil pinagpapawisan pa rin ako after the 30 minute drive considering na naka- full tint at may vents na siya sa 2nd and 3rd row or maybe bias lang ako sa lamig ng buga ng auto climate na aircon.
this is one of the reasons why we sold our Monty.
I'm not a Monty basher/ hater here. Actually, i really love our Monty GLS to the point na nanghihinayang pa rin ako 'pag nakikita ko siya (ka-officemate ni dad ang nakabili). iba pa rin talaga ang dating ng Monty sa Innova. iiwan lang din ni Monty si Innova (pero di masyadong malayo) sa highway. as far as i know the TS will be using the vehicle on provincial roads dito rin sa south so Monty na nga talaga for TS.

Consider also the age of the model. 2005 against 2009. Baka binabayaran mo pa luma na. But if you don't care about those get the one you can afford with ease.
Agree, innova is very tough, my past innova never had squeeks inside and out for 4 1/2 yrs before disposing it. My bayaws 11/2 yrs glx monty already has irritating squeaks s dashboard. Also, at that price range, D4D AT n katapat ng glx mt. Kasira ng kamay vibration ng stick shift ng mt monty, para kang kinukuryente lagi. mas pogi monty, mas maluwag innova, ride parang pareho lang. road imperfections are more felt sa steering ng monty prob because of tire size but it becomes tiring after some time. A/T n innova, ramdam mo turbo lag s monty glx. after all this, it really is up to your preference.
As I've said, mas maibilis sa arangkada, the top speed of d4d at is 160kph, the montero 170 kph. 136 hp nga montero but there is a big difference in weight between the two. also the peak torque of d4d is acheived earlier at 1600 rpm, the glx MT at 2000 rpm as i know it.

Looking at the 130 horses, it may be. Can anyone confirm?

case to case basis i have a few friends that have their innova shocks replaced when their vehicle was not even a year old (city driving only)
but yes it is tough same with the montero
yeah lamang nga ang at tranny
may vibration but sinadya ata ito and it was extensively explained by mitsu- if i remember correctly yung vibration sa steering wheel would let you asses the road surface so you could compensate for it... sa mga hard core of roaders - but the heck kung city driving lang syempre ayaw ko din ng vibrations but in other countries where the montero is exported this car is used for unpaved road- like peru grabe daanan sa kanila talagang gilid ng bundok. dont know kung may innova sa peru uhmm wala!
budget wise montero since it would last long(pero kung pang matagalan talaga mag isuzu hi lander ka hangang ngayon ilaw lang ang pinapalitan still the same old body at wala ata silang balak palitan pa yung design ng body)
or antay ka sa all new innova hindi yung current belo injected botox innova
Hmm~I rather doubt it. Our Strada GLS Sport V already had some difficulty hitting 200, requiring a rather long stretch. I floored it in Skyway one night when I was driving to NAIA 3 and it was crawling past 180km/h. I reached around 185 before having to let off and reach the exit.
