Pag brand new, hindi lang yung monthly amortization alalahanin mo. Meron pang PMS every 3 months sa CASA to maintain the warranty. Pero iba parin ang brand new and the confidence you get na di biglang titirik ang oto when you're on the road.

i'd still go for Mirage GLX A/T

these cars are designed to run cheap.

A secondhand car will need more maintenance, sooner.

And a secondhand Corolla or Civic at 400k will be the newest ones. Replacement parts for those cars cost much more than for something like a MIrage or a Celerio... especially in the case of the Civic.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Pag brandnew 10-12k ka monthly for 5yrs.

thats true, thats the point, for new cars, montly amortz plus pms, for 2nd hand car, maintenance and parts.

sa brand new, di aksayado sa panahon dahil sa repair, and somehow projected na yung gastos mo. sa 2nd hand you can be lucky that less maintenance or unlucky that you have to pay more than a brand new car just for parts.

Depends. If you choose a brand new Mirage over a 440k peso secondhand car, then you're not paying monthly amortization.

If you're choosing a brand new MIrage over a 250k peso secondhand car, then you're only paying 8k per month for three years. You won't save anything over three years, but depending on how many kilometers you drive every year, you will save money eventually (considering the Mirage is economical).

That's the big problem with buying secondhand. Any car more than several years old will start needing more and more possible emergency maintenance over time. Best way to buy secondhand is to buy the newest secondhand possible, to delay the onset of age-related headaches. You can save a lot upfront by buying a 100k secondhand, but if your time is money, you will be spending a lot of it just maintaining your ride.

go for the brand new one, for worry free driving like out of town trips and to avoid mechanical problems due to heavy traffic especially here in metro manila.. but if you have a friend or a friend of your friend whose into auto buy and sell, and will agree to lend the unit you want, even for the whole day (syempre sagot mo gas..hehehe) then bring a mechanic with you to inspect it, ride it...then at least you can decide..

    3. My budget for a 2nd hand car max is 250k, pwedeng ipush sa 300k kung magiipon pa ako ng konti.
a quick browse from sulit showed you can get these cars for that budget:

    Toyota Vios 2004 A/T = P265k
    Honda Civic 2004 A/T = P300k

to give an example, we bought a 2002 Toyota Revo VX200 A/T last Sept 2012 and until now wala pa kami naging problema. maganda ang engine, transmission, chassis at body.

bago ka bumili ng 2nd hand car, you have to inspect it properly. bring along your uncle na maalam sa sasakyan or a mechanic.

    4. My budget for a brand new car is 150k max downpayment, then 12k max monthly. Pero if nagipon pa ako for another year, then maybe i can do 14k monthly
as long as kaya ng budget mo ang monthly amortization, maintenance and fuel, it's okay to get a brand new car.

Mirage GLX CVT is at 548k, Celerio GL AT is at 579k.. Sa value for money I'd go for the Celerio. We had the same doubts, and yes I bought the Celerio GL over the Mirage GLS MT. As to why. 1. Matagal pila sa Mirage. 2. Mas ok safety features ni Celerio. 3. Proven na tipid sa gas si Celerio. 4. 5. It's where I see the value of my money.. 538k Celerio GL vs. 588k Mirage GLS.. I'd rather go sa Celerio GL AT atleast may ABS ka and side impact beam..

I bought the car for my wife nga pala.. So lady din ang driver.. hehe pink pa.. HTH..

EDIT: Pero just like what they said , if you don't want to have a lot of problems and wants peace of mind.. Go Brand new. Unless you have a really good Mechanic then try a 2nd hand car.

Also got a Mirage GLS CVT. Sorry but I will have to disagree with the airbags. It has only 2 (driver and front passenger).
