For provincial drives, I'd recommend the Sylphy 1.6 CVT (~850k after discounts) or the Altis 1.6G (~915k after discounts).
For highway driving, those subcompacts just aren't as composed as these comfort-oriented compacts.
They may not have fancy toys like push button ignition and smart key entry, but they offer much more space, much better NVH, and a more upscale image than the Mazda 2 or City.
If you wanna stick with those 2 options, the City is the better all-rounder and the more practical choice, but the Mazda 2 is more fun to drive and is more unique.

Nope. I suggest you verify what others say before believing them right away.
Mazda 2 Speed Sedan - 975k
Altis 1.6G - 949k (920k after discounts)
Altis 1.6V - 1.013M (985k after discounts)
City VX+ - 988k (960k after discounts)
Sylphy 1.8 - 998k (950k after discounts)
Mazda 3 1.5V - 965k
You're looking at TOTL subcompacts which are priced even higher than mid-range compacts.
Mukhang hindi naman problema pera sa'yo so why not get an ASX instead? About 1.050M but you get higher ground clearance, better looks, a bigger engine, and much better highway stability compared to your subcompact choices. Easy to maneuver too since it's short.

October 28th, 2015 06:00 AM #7My vote goes to mz2 speed. Almost All reviews are positive, and some even say it is the best implementation of skyactiv technology.
Pero kung di ka pa nag iinquire sa loan check mo muna mahirap naman puro big expectations.

AFAIK, there is no Mazda 2 speed variant available yet. It's just the V and R variant.

honda city
-will be quieter and
-more comfortable than the tiny mazda2.
-more space also.
-Hill start assist,
-reverse camera,
-side curtain airbags+side airbags.
-trunk release(i use this alot),
-60:40 split folding rear seats (if you want to bring a barbell in the trunk).
-wider wheels * 6inches,
-keyless entry+push start
Only thing thats good on mazsa2 is slightly better FC, Free maintenance for 3yrs(hefty acquisition cost)
Honda City is my vote...
