Don't get it wrong, I liked my Mazda when I had it but they really need to improve their suspension. If not upgrade them with polyurethane bushings and change the springs to the aftermarket. My suggestion , your choice[emoji4]

depends pa din bro, right now the only reason there's more 86/brz is because the previous mx5 was priced above 2m but now it's around 1.6m in a year or two there will be just as much mx5. also if you plan to modify it there's more aftermarket support for the 86/brz than the mx5. so that will be a huge advantage for the 86/brz.

I saw the original miata awhile back. It was beside a vios. Its really compact. I love it. I was thinking if the new one weighs the same as the old one but with much more power..... It will be a hoot to drive. It accelerates faster stock than a brz.

The previous gen Mazda MX-5 NC was priced around 2M because it had Power Retractable Hardtop.

Once you're on the seat nothing matters anymore.

I would go for the mx-5 if it comes with a hardtop.

Agree, the soft top might not work well with our country's tropic climate. I don't think they'd be coming anytime soon though, if at all.

First batch of ND Miata's, find the non-Soul Red!

Is the soft top hard to maintain?

It's a theft and vandal magnet. All it takes is a small pocket knife and your day is completely ruined. Mine had a hard top so parking and theft was at least manageable. The vandals, well there were people who were really greened eyed and couldn't help but try to leave their mark. I just kept retouching whenever the car gets scratched. Kaya lang na Ondoy sya so I set my head towards something age appropriate then. I was 44 years old when Ondoy happened and my back was also strained as I used the MX-5 as a daily driver being of low clearance and all so I switched to a higher clearance vehicle (SUV).

I would get the Miata Soul Red. 1000kg and 200Nm torque. Awesome fc for daily driving except when it rains.

Come bad-weather time, all those in an MX5 will wish they were in a WRX.

I'm kinda on the same boat. Though choosing either a Miata or a 86. My worry with the Miata is the boot space and rooftop(baka sirain ng mga nakaw kotse un soft top) kaya I'm thinking really hard for it. I won't include the WRX since I don't like engines with turbo. Though like the T.S i really like the Miata

I'd go for the MX-5 in M/T only if it's going to be used purely as a spare toy car.

But as a daily driven or even as a coding car with some performance, I'd consider the WRX (or others in A/T).

The Miata's is around 116.8mm. I have confidence in a WRX being more waterproof.

When the road really gets muddy, I rather be in a WRX especially on inclines.

After having spent six winters in heavy snow country, I have a lot more respect for AWD.
