June 21st, 2015 04:17 PM #4It's a theft and vandal magnet. All it takes is a small pocket knife and your day is completely ruined. Mine had a hard top so parking and theft was at least manageable. The vandals, well there were people who were really greened eyed and couldn't help but try to leave their mark. I just kept retouching whenever the car gets scratched. Kaya lang na Ondoy sya so I set my head towards something age appropriate then. I was 44 years old when Ondoy happened and my back was also strained as I used the MX-5 as a daily driver being of low clearance and all so I switched to a higher clearance vehicle (SUV).

I would get the Miata Soul Red. 1000kg and 200Nm torque. Awesome fc for daily driving except when it rains.

the ground clearance of the wrx is no more advantageous than the miata for the philippine road set up. the need for awd in the streets of metromanila is non existent, it's actually a disadvantage because awd makes fuel consumption worse especially in metromanila traffic. the only advantage of the wrx over the mx5 is it's power, 5 seats and boot space.

I saw plenty during my visit in 2013. On our way from the MoA to the Global City, there was a downpour at Pasay City(?) which caused a construction area to get very muddy. Some vehicles were slipping pretty bad. Then, there was minor flooding near the Bamboo Organ and also somewhere in Cavite, toward Imus, maybe.
The Miata's nimbleness won't matter in Manila's traffic snarls which also makes it pointless.
Both cars excel away from the metropolitan area in which case the TC should probably consider a different set of cars....if traffic in Manila is a big concern.
The Miata seems best for places like where I am which gets over 300 days of nothing but sunshine.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; June 24th, 2015 at 09:47 AM.
