medyo ganun (for me). i see the fortuner 4x2 as a minivan that doesn't quite work as well as a minivan as a real minivan hehe
kung yun lang din e mag ga-grandis nalang ako. or an x-trail 250X or something.

dude...mag diesel na kayo..
why?
i'll tell you why...puntahan mo ako at pagusapan natin yan with a couple of cold bottles...he..he
fakesaint,
depende. sulit yung 3.0 fortuner even at 1.5 M, but you pay for 4WD and off-roadability. if none of those interest you, that's 300K down toyota's drain. pang-gas mo nalang yung 300k na yun hehe.
ok back to sorento na, wlang nang fortuner na topic plz. the sales person from Hyundai old me to pick shell's diesel bec it suited for common rail engines are they right? king budget ninyo is no more than 1.2m for unit only which would you choose sorento LS manual base model maraming kulang or Tucson with all the safety features of other SUVS. by the way both here in cdo cost 1.198M
Sorento in Korea are so cheap, less than 700T lang? (as per invoice posted), Maybe that's why there's a handful of surplus sorento CRDi Limited with full options (power seats, moonroof, 3rd row seats, HF steering controls, climate controls, power retract side mirrors, etc.) are at 2nd hand dealers shops. Mostly 900T.
Er... that's the factory price.Originally Posted by andre

this thread has been quiet for a long time now.
i just like to make a follow-up to ultraman's question 'what's wrong with stock sorento tires?'
Hi! Bago lang ako dito. I use to read mga post sa KIA-Forum regarding SorentoOriginally Posted by jrln

Anyway, I own a Sorento with over 8K sa ODO. It's korean market version with all luxury package except sa auto climate control. Akin yong di knob pa rin. I find it exellent car to drive and never got problems with CRDI engine unlike sa nababasa ko na problema sa Innova CRDi and some of the fortuner D4D. My Sorento color is Ebony black / pewter combination.
How about the CRDi system of Sorento? Denso din ba? D4d CRDi has problems and i think that is enough reason to choose sorento over Fortuner beside the ride mas malabot yon na test drive ko na Sorento.3rd row seats naman ang problem sa Sorento and the resale value. (IMHO)
Originally Posted by larshell

Hi JeanPierre,
How's everything... I missed our correspondence in Kia-Forums.... But we can continue it here.... People in this Tsikot Community are very accommodating....
Regarding the stock tires.. hmmm, I don't really know, but there was an issue regarding when your kumho tires are already 50%, bumps tend to form at the sides or the walls of the tires... But I think that was before... So far I am on my 8k on my Sorento, and no signs of it yet... I'll check again when my ride reaches 15k..
Hi gregg ! It's nice to hear from you again. Everything is fine especially with my ride. It's just that sa ngayon, tulog lang ng tulog ang Sorento ko kasi sa labas ako ngayon.Ang tagal na din since last tayo nag palitan ng messages sa KIA-Forum. Well, dito mukhang okay naman. Pilit ko nga hinanap yong picture taken from Germany showing the convoy of Sorentos with their owners. It was such a long convoy of Sorentos and there is one also from Korea Sorento owners. I wonder here in the phillipines, how many Sorento owners na kaya???
Gregg, did you install some Sorento accessories already?
from 4x4news.co.uk
"Sorento represents a new level of international integration for Kia with components and expertise sourced from top automotive names around the world. The list includes suspension tuning by Porsche, four-wheel drive system components from Borg Warner (manufactured in South Wales), shock absorbers and self-levelling suspension from Sachs, ABS and fuel injection systems from Bosch, and air-bag technology from Autoliv."
Jeanpierre,
Actually more & more tsikoteers, are realizing the quality goodness of our ride.... Some of them are even thinking of buying one...
Well the truth is, since Sorento was launch in the states in 2000 or 2001 , I have been hoping that It will be sold also in Manila.Parang na love at first sight ako sa Sorento. So i did little bit of research and realized that KIA has completely changed compare sa KIA noon.Plus it was tested in so many countries first before it was sold sa atin at maganda ang track record at mga performance feedback. Kaya when I first saw the display of Sorento sa SM City last October 2004, the following day, I took my wife to one of the KIA dealer to pay the downpayment. The rest is history, eto tulad mo enjoying the Sorento ride witout any problems and without any regrets.
Jeanpierre,
Regarding the accessories, got the following:
*clip-on rear backview mirror
*OEM stepboard
indeed the sorrento is a good car to have but many of car buyers are hesitant about keeping the car more than 5 years... resale value issue. Given the choices Fortuner and the Sorento, if a buyer will consider resale value over technical specifications the fortuner is a definite winner. A lot of Car buyers today usually look at resale value before technical spec.
Well ,resale value before technical spec thing is true. But sa opinion ko, we can never be sure na magiging mas mataas ang resale Value ng Fortuner compare sa Sorento after 5 year. That's still remains to be seen. Fortuner is new at nasa "wait and see" status pa lang kung baga unlike Sorento na tested na being out in the market for over 4 years na. Originally Posted by bilog
