Fuel filters don't always stop all water or contaminants.

The additional HP gain of a CRDI Innova is balanced by its need for quality diesel fuel. The D4D is a great diesel engine, but my crosswind commonly out performs the Innvova G Diesel around town. The reason it does this is sensitivity to diesel fuel quality. The gas powered Innovs's always outperform my crosswind. So the HP rating don't always tell the full story. CalTex, Petron and maybe Shell need to reduce the amount of water and contaminats in their underground tanks at all service stations.
medyo naguguluhan ako dun sa common rail injection system and the direct injection system. kasi di ba CRDI ay "Common Rail Direct Injection"

of course malakas ang arangkada ng xwind compared to innova kaya siguro (in your opinion) out perform ng xwind yun sa downtown. but i don't think speed really matters sa downtown...otherwise pulos langitngit ng tires ang result dahil nga malakas ang arangkada. i am sure it only pertains to the responsiveness ng unit.

How can you support the D4D variant getting 14sec 0-100KPH when my 2006 Innova 2.7Liter I4 RWD Gas engine gets 12.0 Sec 0-100KPH. I have searched everywhere for toyota acceleration specs on the D4D and cannot find it. Anyway I was only commenting my Crosswind has outperformed the D4D around town. But no matter how hard I try...the 2.0 vvt-i always outperforms my crosswind.

I like both my Innova and Crosswind...and feel comfortable driving both..even though my wife prefers the Innova because its lower and easier to climb into. So far limited repairs to both vehicles. Personally I would like to see the 3.0 liter CRDi Isuzu Diesel installed in the Crosswind.

you are correct innova gas m/t could reach 0-100km/h in 12.0 secs... 14+ seconds for innova m/t diesel this figures are from reliable car reviews and was posted in this thread sorry don't remember which page is that...is there 2.7L for innova gas variant? or you mean your 2.0L I4 RWD gas...

Yes, this is what separates the fuel response characteristics between both engines. The D4D has this 1/2 second (I think) delay feel after pressing the pedal.

If I were to get an Innova variant, I'd get a vvt-i.

The 2.7L I4 RWD gas Innova was a special order from Toyota. Its the same engine as the Fortuner 2.7L gas variant. Ask your toyota dealer regarding this engine for special order. In fact the 2.7LI4 RWD Innova is very common outside Philippines...and don't know why Toyota does not make it a standard engine option here.

bro, baka naman ibig niyang sabihin pa-road test mo sa kanya kung anong kakayahan meron ang sta fe mo para di tayo ma-OT. sa innova ako mas smooth ang ride at mas tahimik ang engine!

The delay felt something like 1 to 2 secs. It is very pronounced bec. it gives one time to pause and think (that's how long the delay was).

Sir correction lang po, Innova and Crosswind are MPV type not SUV!
For me, I'll get the gas Innova as my first car! For easy maintenance!

I'd take a diesel innova. Much comfier and refined than any incarnation of the crosswind/sportivo.

Just don't get one with a problematic D4D, see this thread: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23197&page=94

My dad uses a 2005 diesel innova (now with 57,000 km on the odo) for a daily commute between calamba and quezon city, so far it hasn't displayed any of the symptoms detailed in that thread.

The Crosswind is easier to maintain. More rugged, simpler parts...

But hell, the Innova is much more comfortable. I'd only get one after a test-drive, though... make sure that when you go to test-drive it, that the owner hasn't warmed up the engine beforehand... make sure it starts easily (hard-starting is a good sign that the fuel system is on the way out) and that it has no "kalampag".

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
