Honda Vs Toyota

proud TOYOTA owner / tuner here for 8 yrs (and counting). Ive owned about 11 Toyota's and all I can say is that they are pretty damn good cars! Toyota's have a solid chassis & reliable engines. strong, interchangeable, high quality & affordable parts. its easy to maintain and there's a lot of models to choose from from. and also, they are less prone to Vehicle Theft!

although, Honda's are good vehicles too. they are also easy to maintain and is about as good as Toyota. but the only thing that I dont like about Honda's are they're soft body & chassis, they're very common (specially those Civic's and Integra's.. almost everyone has a Civic or a Integra, and all of their set-ups/modifications are exactly the same!). and most of all, Honda's / Acura's are easy to STEAL. Honda's and Acura's are THE #1 stolen vehicles out here in the US.

so I'll stick w/ my Toyota's

Siyempre Toyota, it has good quality cars, mura ang maintainance, good resale value, and parts that is readily available. Honda kasi mas higher ang maintainance cost at etc......

I own and drive both. They are equal in my view. As for the maintenance part those are things of the past, maintenance wise patas na din sila especially the newer Toyotas.

Driving wise mas gusto ko Honda it has this feeling which I never seem to feel driving a Toyota (mas boring kung baga yung Toyota), if just a passenger than a Toyota is fine. I guess that nice feeling of you knowing even if you own the cheapest of the cheap Honda you can be assured there would be no taxis that will look like you car.

At the end of the day its not in the brand its in the user.

Having owned both Hondas and Toyotas, my vote goes to Toyota, why? Parts are so much easier to buy outside of the casa and not to mention that it is substantially cheaper, reliability and dependability I think they are about the same. I used to be a Honda loyalist, but after the SIR I think the Civic just got uglier when the VTEC 3 came along with its weird looking butt and now we have THE UGLIEST of all CIVICs, the FD series. Not to mention the ugliest car on the road today is none other than the 2003-present Honda City.

^^ In the Philippines, taxis are looked down at... It gives an idea about being cheap and low class.... It might not be so in other countries....

Please quantify... is this because Honda won't let people use their cars as taxis that you say this? Because Toyota won't let you use th 08 Vios or Corolla as taxis, either... and I've seen more old Corollas (including Altises, mind you) in need of shock replacement than Hondas. I'm not saying that Toyota durability is a myth, but I laugh whenever anyone says that Toyota suspensions are better than the rest. In my experience, Toyota shocks wear out, just like everyone else's.

The Avanza, yes, you can use it as a taxi, but the suspension feels like it'd come apart over a good sized pothole... ...peace lang, Avanza boys... ...just kidding.

For the old Corolla 4AFE, this much is still true. You can buy parts for old Corollas anywhere.

But the new ZZ engines in the current Altis and Vios? Ha. Good luck. For many parts, you still have to go to the specialists in Banawe or the casa like us poor, deluded, non-Toyota owners ( ). It's not as easy as with the old cars, where you could get parts from your neighborhood sari-sari store. My cousin has had to send out for parts for his Altis at times... it's not as easy as it used to be, guys.

well, I think talagang "maarte" lang ang Honda Motor Philippines. also, Taxi operators dont want unreliable cars eh. gusto nila yung mga sasakyan na matatag at tumatagal, hindi yung panay "porma" lang. hehehe. sorry kung may na offend.

anywayz, proven na talaga, sa buong mundo na ang Toyota ay #1 . sorry ha, opinion ko lang yan. also, statistics doesnt lie and thats a fact. also, ano ba ang ranking ng Honda ngayon??

up to now gusto ko pa din ng mr2 ng toyota. sana dumami tcash ko at makabili ako. hehehe

sa 2000 pababa na sedans dito sa pinas mas feel ko honda. power and handling mas masarap i drive.

back to the topic, i'm for the Honda...why? i find the toyotas overpriced and over-hyped..
besides, maintenance wise, halos pareho lang din sila... i would just prefer the newer technology of the hondas.
