Montero sport glx or innova E

Sirs and gurus,

I know both vehicles do not belong in the same category but we are torn between these two vehicles as a replacement to our 2007 innova j. I would really appreciate any of your inputs/ ideas you could share relative to this. Thank you.

Kung ako Montero na especially since you already owned an Innova, basically the J and the E are the same except for some upgrades like all power features.

Monty vs Innova

Monty's is better in most aspect from engine performance (although a bit smoky), ground clearance, and looks

But

Monty has smalller space for passengers (2nd and 3rd row) bec. floor is higher (a result of being built for mild off road purpose) resulting in less thigh space.

If you have 7 passengers all the time and comfort/space is very important for them then you might think twice before getting a Monty. How about its competition like Fortuner or Trail Blazer ?

Are you extremely fond of your Innova? If it is already the perfect car for you, I'd say go for the Innova E.

Montero Sport is much more sophisticated, powerful and has more features. Definitely a step up from your old Innova J. It's more cumbersome to drive though, what with the rather heavy steering and increased dimensions as compared to the Innova.

Better if you can wait a year or two for the 2nd gen innova, there are spyshots circling the net already. If you really need a replacement, just go for this year's Innova. Passengers find ingress/egress difficult in suvs like the montero and the passenger room inside is tighter than the Innova too.

i actually liked the 2005 innova so much, i got another (new) one in 2012.
and i haven't regreted it one bit.

Go for the Montero even if is the base model,it
has 7inch multimedia entaetainment,back-up camera and more
how about waiting for the New Isuzu MU-X

Our innova really served us well, except for that d4d issues at that time (2005-2007 models) which toyota eventually addressed by replacing its (or they installed?) a suction control valve, i have no regrets, till now, it runs really well and super tipid sa gas that is why i have second thoughts about its replacement.

I can only afford kasi for its possible replacement the base model monty which is non- vgt, compared to innova, say the mid trimmed G or even the V, how will it fare in terms of engine power vis a vis the turbo lag of a non vgt monty? Thanks guys..

Sobrang bawing-bawi na po yung innova nyo in terms of usage, retain nyo po yung current vehicle nyo at gamitin for workhorse, then bili ulit ng "full-upgrade" since ang target nyo po ay montero(or other different model variant na gusto nyo) wag po tipirin...

Top-end and High end po ang category nyo po Sir...hehehe

i held on to my sedan for this, the mobility-impaired... even if it guzzles gas..
kung puede lang i-lower ang innova and still drive good look good...

Consider the Crosswind also. Same layout as the Innova but better ground clearance.

Parang downgrade yun ah, Innova to Crosswind? Kung Crosswind din lang naman, better stick with the old Innova na lang.

Actually we both have the same dilemma, i also own an innova e 2007 and i am also thinking what car to buy when i finally decided to get another one and i am also leaning to two choices monty glx or innova but this time higher variant, as for features i think both are not far from each unit even though its a SUV vs MPV but if your after for comfort and convenience in driving, better get innova a/t but if you really want to upgrade to a diff category then go with montesport.

kung hindi pa nagkaroon ng major breakdown ang innova nyo, much better na i-retain nyo po ang unit for workhorse and buy a fully upgrade vehicle, kung decided na po kayo bumili 2nd car, pero kung very patience kayo at paabutin nyo po ng 10yrs ang innova nyo, for sure, marami nang lalabas na new models ng sasakyan at makakapili na kayo + top of the line pa ang makukuha nyo.
pag 10yrs, bawing bawi na talaga yung gamit ng sasakyan.

2004 revo po yung sa amin, retain pa rin yung sasakyan at wala pa talagang major problem/breakdown. If ever man na talagang magsimula na po yung mga sunod sunod na problema for next 2-3yrs,
either na upgrade, update, or degrade ang gagawin namin, for another unit,

bawing bawi na kasi yung gamit ng sasakyan, kaya reasonable enough na talaga para palitan.
