Quick survey guys! Wife and I is planning on getting an AUV as family car. Looking at Xwind, Carens, Adventure and Innova. More of city driving kami but occasionally goes out of town (Baguio, Tagaytay) and to my hometown of San Pablo. So more of riding comfort, space and tipid na mileage. Of course maintenance must be cheaper too.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks.

1st reco would be a diesel Innova then close second yung CRDi Carens based on what you need.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else... Driven To Thrill!

Among your choices I'd choose Innova

AUV pala hanap mo eh.. adventure, xwind or innova lang choice mo.. carens kasi is MPV... more car like ride yan carens with extra 2 seats... as usual na recommendation eh xwind na naman due to very efficient, durable but yet smokey diesel engine.. but for the price and features medyo talo ka... sa adventure.. almost same ng xwind old school pero mas mura at madami features.. sa innova panalo sa technology na auv kasi sa D4D engine

Ilan kayo sa family? If you don't need to seat a lot of people, the Carens is the best choice. It has the best ride quality and dragster engine performance but still with good gas mileage. Second up is the Innova. It is slightly bigger than the Carens, has more rugged underpinnings (shared with the Fortuner and Hilux), and the engine is very fuel efficient and adequately powerful. The Crosswind and Adventure are both old school diesels. The Crosswind has the upper hand in fuel efficiency and climbing ability, the Adventure is more refined and performs better in higher speeds. If you don't need to seat 10, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

The Innova seems to have a good balance between the riding smoothness of modern minivans like the Carens and the ruggedness of an old-school AUV like the Crosswind. Might be the best option to meet your requirements.

Adventure - medyo mahina sa climbing ability (4D56 without TDIC).
Crosswind - powerful engine, durable, very fuel efficient pero hindi smooth, i used to ride a 2003 XUV and i could feel the rough vibration up to the steering wheel, just do'nt know with the newer models.
Carens - have'nt tried driving one.

    I'd go for an Innova.

My vote is for the Innova. My brother has a D4D, borrowed and drove it to Bicol. Have a suitable power climbing the Quezon National Park in Atimonan with 5 pax plus baggage. It has spacious cabin too.

    japanese brand fanatic ka tol?
    IMHO
mas maganda na ang technology ng korean cars ngayon compared to other car brand w/c is the mitsu, toyota and esp. isuzu.
it's a little bit OT na on the part w/c is comparing the jap and korean cars but its just the mentality of some filipinos(majority esp. yung di na informed at nakikinig lang sa usapusapan) its a new generation dapat open tayo sa new technologies ng mga bihasa at may mga karanasan at ebidensya na sila ay umuusbong at umuunlad,di dapat tayo ma.STOCK sa kung ano lng yung meron tayo we must look 4wd for the better for our future kaya di umuunlad pinas,tsk2 too much for that! Super OT na, but from what the ts is looking, they want an AUV
thus yung choices niya fit on the JAPS car kasi mpv yung carens ng kia but they still consider it as one of their choices (*ts no offense)
Yung AUV kasi designed for asian countries w/c is prone to flush floods kaya nga matataas yung ground clearance nila cause they know the condition of the roads in asian countries.
Kaya marami ang naka innova, xwind at adventure kaysa carens because of those matter. Pero kung performance lang at safety features, hands down ako sa carens besides TS included this car for their choices.
Personally I recommend kia carens kung di naman issue sa inyo ground clearance.
Next is innova, par lng yung xwind at adventure.

    BTW
We have xwind sportivo xmax m/t, 2.5 turbo engine. Its true na mahina umarangkada ang xwind because it's not designed for drag racing kaya nga mahihina lang gamit ng engine sa mga mpvs or auvs, but based on personal experience talagang matibay na maingay ang makina nito.
Sa innova at adventure di ko pa na drive ang mga ito kaya no comment muna sa driving aspects but nakasakay na ako both mas maganda ang ride ng innova compare adventure and xwind.
In the other hand i have driven the kia carens manual on a test drive, ang ganda talaga kahit na ma.driver or passenger ka ang ganda talaga ng ride. Thrice the comfort on the adventure and crosswind and twice for innova.
*ts go for carens m/t if you consider ride comfort,fc,and cheaper maintenance at the price of 1.2+M di kana lugi dun kaysa doon ka sa non improved car tapos overpriced at walang safety features basta wag mo lang gawing pangharabas dahil it's not designed for a workhorse car for asian countries. :D

    tapos fuel/oil filter 500
    php,
    300php service.nasa 2k php lng.

*BB i'm sure bout the fc of carens some tsikoters agree w/that matter, carens should have higher cost from its maintenance because its a better car than those japs auv cars!

    BTW
You don't have to compare the carens from xwind simply because it's SELF-EXPLANATORY!!!

    GETS???

If you think im a korean car fanatic then your definitely wrong, what I'm trying to imply here is to take consideration on what ts needs and what's his priority in choosing a car. He did first mention the riding comfortability thus it should be the carens!

    Huh? Galit ka brod?

Ok. I stand corrected na mas ok pala ang FC ng carens due to its crdi engine.

But, na-compare ko ba ang carens sa crosswind? May self-explanatory all-caps ka pang nalalaman. hehehe

And may sinabi ba akong korean fanboy ka? Why? Guilty ka?

Anyway the Joy you get from owning the crosswind will come from the savings you get in the long run.

Not everyone will be happy with just a fuel-efficient car. Personally I wouldn't mind if my car was a little thirstier, if it was fun to drive. Different strokes for different folks

both of these statements are true... which just shows it's pointless to BASH or BRAG about any cars in comparison here... it's all about PERSONAL PREFERENCE... some bought crosswinds because they prefer to save, some bought something else because they like how fast that car is, and the list goes on and on... just be careful of your comments not to be offensive to the owners of the car you are referring and let's keep the discussion INFORMATIVE....
