On a personal level, ethanol-gasoline mix does not save you any money since it cost nearly the same as regular gasoline.

The only positive side of using ethanol mix is the savings in dollars by the country. Assuming we all use E10 gasoline (10% ethanol), that assumes we save 10% of the dollars we would have used to buy that much more gasoline.

The downside of using ethanol mixed gasoline is the increased wear of certain internal engine components.
