April 10th, 2010 12:51 AM #21Forester "exclusive" ang dating at parang luxury car sa unang tingin.. lalo na subaru yung iba akala european car yan like bmw.. kaya lang hangang saan kaya yan exclusivity na yan.. baka naman sa parts eh exclusive ka din lahat may parts ikaw lang ang wala.. sa design naman medyo classik ang dating ng forester boxy pero maganda yun nga lang gas engine which is fast in highways but will suffer in city traffic
yung tucson very fresh kasi bago.. maganda ang after sales support at madami new features to offer.. diesel is good lalo na kung naka turbo.. mostly diesel engines ang naka turbo kasi mas matibay ang block nyan compared sa gas engine.. very torquey pa.. for an SUV torque is highly needed to pull that heavy body from stop go traffic

i value the looks, FC, value for money...practicality, that is...so Tucson CRDi premium has my vote!
Forester obviously has more horses than tucson but hey, are you really going to use those extra horses of the Forester against Tucson's that often? if you do, and paying more for the gas doesn't mean anything to you sir (not to mention being green nowadays, hehe), then by all means, Forester xt it is!
lastly, IMO Tucson looks proportionally stunning than the Forester which is boxy and bad profile...

April 10th, 2010 05:16 PM #26I agree with the poster who said let your dad at least test ride them both. If he's the one driving kasi and he's young enough to handle the FXT, my reco at the bottom probably will NOT apply.
Kung gusto niya kasi comfortable palagay ko mahihirapan talunin yung long-travel suspension ng Forester, lalo kung papalitan ng tires. Ito at yung performance ng FXT ang mahirap abutin ng Tuc.
That being said, yung higher cost ng maintenance ng Diesel Tuc will not be much of an issue kasi Honda-level ang maintenance cost ng Forester. So running cost will almost surely go for the Tuc -- by a lot.
Yun nga lang kung mostly bolt-ons and add-ons ang kaibahan ng regular Tuc sa premium Tuc, you might want to consider the Forester 2.0X because halos the SAME ang accessories niya with the FXT, right up to the moon roof.

18" rims
power retract side mirrors
full leather interior
6 CDC head unit + subwoofer + 400W amp
etc...
Buhay na buhay ang BGC this evening. Bukas halos lahat ng restaurants. Sabi pa nung isang cashier...
