Just get a diesel LC80 then call it a day, will you?

Kidding aside, I think that the Montero has an edge on this. Meron nga video dito before GLS-V (or GTV, basta V) crossing flood na umaabot sa hood yung wave. Nakalagpas naman.

can we not waterproof all the electricals and electronics of our vehicles? i'm thinking pwede naman siguro i-seal ng silicone sealant lahat ng harness connectors, all ecu/tcm/bcm boxes then seal also the plugs when they are already plugged in. san kaya pwede pagawa ito, sa casa if still under warranty? kaya ko i-diy pero yun lang nga baka i-void naman nila ang warranty pag nakita nila na ginalaw yung mga boxes.

    Alternator already relatively waterproof.

ECUs won't get damaged by short crossings. It's the car being stuck in a flood that's an issue. Most engine-bay electronics have their own rubber seals and will survive short trips.

The Ondoy damage to most SUVs was because the water seeped into the cabin and shorted out the less-heavy duty wiring inside. If your SUV has the ECU in the cabin, it isn't as well protected as one in the engine bay.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Your Dmax is way better than both of them....

Besides, anything like a pickup or an SUV with a ladder-frame chassis is EXPECTED to do good in floods ---- It is not something out of the ordinary, and it is not something to rave about to such an amazement.... Pangkaraniwan lang yan, not a big deal.

    Cheers!
