I have a friend who is considering a new Sportage or a new Tucson for her purchase. She drives from manila to batangas everyday for work. Her main considerations are safety, FC and resale value. "Gadget-friendliness" is secondary (sorry don't know the term but these are iPOD connectivity, GPS, bluetooth, etc). What can you guys suggest? Are there any other notable CUV/SUV that will fall into the 1.2M budget?

Mitsubishi ASX 2.0 GLS CVT (4x2)

    P1.275M less P50,000 cash discount

    Pricelist Link: http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...stNov2012a.jpg

Effortless driving with the 2.0L MIVEC engine and CVT transmission with paddleshifts and cruise control. Keyless entry. I think the current GLS model also features push-start button.

Around 8-9km/L city driving and 12km+km/L highway driving.

Touchscreen headunit with GPS navigation. iPod compatible with bluetooth, DVD, Aux-in, USB port.

    Of those options:

    The ASX drives the nicest

The Gran Vitara is the best off-road

The Sportage has the nicest interior

The X-Trail has the best transmission

The X-Trail and the Escape have the best rear seats

The SX4... well... it's cheap. I'd rather get a Soul.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If we include ladder-frame (truck based) SUV, then options will now include entry levels of:
    Montero
    Fortuner
    Everest
    Alterra
    Trailblazer

But I like the ASX and the Grand Vitara recommendations for girl.
