Syempre CRV! Subok ko na ang CRV. Matipid sa fuel at maintenance basta hindi ka lang laspag magmaneho. Hindi ako bilib sa Korean car. Kung diesel ang gusto mo ay Innova, Adventure o Crosswind na lang.

    You like Tucson?

Here's some important news about the vehicle:

    Included among the 2007 recalls...

    Hyundai

    NHTSA Potential Affected Units: 128,300
    Model:Tucson

Problem: On certain sport-utility vehicles, static air-bag deployment testing—conducted by NHTSA using fifth-percentile female dummies—indicated if a small-stature adult driver, not wearing a seat belt, is involved in a frontal or near frontal crash, deployment of the driver air bag may result in an insufficient margin of compliance as measured by the test dummy used in the NHTSA test.

Hindi naman din ako fifth percentile female. Hehehe. Sa barkada ko, isa lang ata ang pumasok sa classification na ganun (and she drives a Vios).

Recalls are a pretty normal thing. Wala namang perfect units. And most of the time, only a certain batch of units (identified via manufacture date or VIN numbers) are covered.

I just don't like recalls pertaining to a vehicle's propensity to explode, catch fire, etc. hehehe.

But, if I were to buy an SUV today,- I'd choose the Tucson CRDi over the other 2....

if function>form=CRDi tucson/sportage (more fuel efficient, greater pull power, bosch diesel tech E5/E10 capable...)
but then again, doesnt mean the korean makes are not fahionable...depends on the beholder, you see...for me, tucson (u should see the monotone white).
reliability? tucson (all hyundai vehicles) has 5yrs warranty.
safety features? d 4x2 CRDi tucson has a "specs-up" (SU) version (+driver-side airbag, ABS, backing sensor, already on 4 wheel disc brakes) for only an add'l P30k
conclusion, for me...white tucson 4x2 CRDi SU *P1.108M! nuke bang for ur buck!

The Tucson CRDi 4x2 is surely the proverbial bang-for-the-buck CUV esp. when compared to the CRV or the RAV4. However, the Tucson CVVT (gas) A/T is around Php 130K less than the 4x2 CRDi. Should the CRDi really command such a high premium?

    for a TUCSON CVVT a/t:
P130,000=3,250L of unleaded (*P40/L)=26,000kms of city road (*8km/L)
    for a TUCSON 4x2 CRDi:
    26,000kms of city driving=2363.63L of diesel (*11kms/L)=P80,363 (*P34/L)
Now, if u can commit ur 4x2 CRDi to cover ~67,600kms more than the CVVT a/t, that will cover for the difference. Beyond that figure, kikita na CRDi mo vs CVVT a/t....
