Go for XE though medyo pahirapan nga lang. nice interior (with tach) almost
similar to GLi at matipid. kahit ako hanap ko noon XE. Kakahinayang nga

Tempting nga naman considering they are both offerred at same price...

Or better yet get the GLI, pa-ayos mo konti yung exteriors and other stuffs, then benta mo (current pricing is around 150-180)..hehe! kumita ka pa, by then you will have enough money to choose newer model.

    Again, its only me!

    Goodluck on your decision.

yep the gli is being offered like the price of an XL pa nga..

pero there is a catch..wala na atang masyadong hatak pag sa initial gear (stop-1st gear-2nd gear) so may parang kinabit daw sya na device para mabilis uli ang arangkada..

    ok pa ba ito?

if ever pwede bang papalitan ng carb engine itong efi ng gli para tipid sa gas?how much kaya abutin?

All else being equal, hands down go for the GLi. Fuel economy? Matipid talaga ang 2e pero matipid din naman ang 4afe, malakas pa. Right now, kahit na sobrang init (heat soak), and having a busted cylinder head gasket, I still manage to get 9 km/L city, 10-11/km/L highway sa GLi ko.

Pero not everything is equal. Get the car that's in better condition. Nakakatakot yung 'may kinabit na device' para lumakas ang arangkada. Malakas ang 1st and 2nd gear ng GLi e. Hindi dapat ganyan yan.

A year ago, I was in the same position you were in. Ako naman gusto ko talaga is XE. Pero nung may nakita akong GLi na sobrang kinis pa at maganda ang takbo, kinuha ko na kahit mas mahal sa gusto ko. I don't regret it at all, mahal na mahal ko oto ko.

Basta, bilin mo yung mas ok ang condition between the two.

Anyway if you want more info (shameless plug) punta ka sa Club AE at www.clubae.proboards104.com. Marami kaming naka Corolla jan, XL, XE, GLi, nakapagpalit na ng makina, lahat! I'm sure marami pang ibang makakatulong sa'yo jan.

Yikes. That's a scary problem. forget about that car.

Tipid din naman ang efi. I dont think you can change efi to carb without some crazy modifications.

baka nilagyan ng khaos-like device.. stay away from the gli. engine replacements are not the way to go if you're on a budget and you don't know your way around the engine, mapapagastos ka lang ng todo.

pag tumanda at hindi rin maganda ang pag maintain sa mga 1300cc carbs... lumalakas din sa gas yan. we once had a badly maintained Corolla XE acquired 2nd hand and it's only returning a very poor 6km/l.

for that, wala pa kme power windows, locks, side mirrors, Go POWER etc that are found in the Corolla GLi.
