November 3rd, 2009 06:22 PM #11The fuel consumption of the AE92, contrary to popular belief is very much comparable to the Lancer 1.3L "itlog". Suspension and handling of the AE92 is much stiffe than the Lancer hence it's bordering on "matagtag" if you go for the 15 in mags...
For looks, sheer power and handling, nothing beats the original 16 Valve Corolla of the early 90s...

November 4th, 2009 12:02 PM #13Well, thanks for your valuable feedbacks guys i have a low 100k as budget for it but yes I am also considering the ECCS considering and to adress the E10 issu. I have a prospect 90 corolla 16v for 85k and i think its a good buy since oks pa ang engine nya pero hindi nga lang loaded at saka malakas ang talsik ng langis sa oil cap nya. sabi ng iba blow by na daw pero I tried and tested the car ok naman performance at fino pa andar. hindi rin kumakain ng langis. but i am also considering seriously the ECCS which could be surely a keeper kung nasa pa gamit lang siguro. BTW it would be my first car kaya kailangan kung pag aralan ng husto bago ako mag decide. more inputs here guys would aid me in this dilemma...TIA.

mas madali maghaap ng parts compare sa lancer..mas mura pa parts ng corolla.
mas maganda pa pang ilalim ng corolla compare sa lancer...

first thing first is kung may talsik na sa oil cap disregard mo na mahal din magpa overhaul
for me i choose ECCS nissan - matibay makina, malakas aircon, timing belt chain (err.. yun nga ba ulit sorry medyo antok na ako eh ), and as par din cya sa toyota in terms of spare parts
just look for car that maintained properly

Come on, mag 2 decade old na yung mga model na iyon, why not save 50k more? Then get newer model at least a 1996-1997 car.
You can get a 96-97 Nissan Sentra car for almost 150k.
Anyway, kung talagang yun lang ang budget mo, don't get the Corolla, blow-by na ang tawag dun, mahal magpa-overhaul ng engine. Check another car within your price range.

IMO sentra, take advantage of the low resale value ikaw ang makikinabang kasi ikaw ang buyer, for that you will get a reliable engine and a smile while driving under the scorching sun
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
