Thanks for the comment of Civic. Honestly, I don't trust the FC of onboard computers, I always do manual computation

Anyway, for my brother, Civic na lang daw coz higher resale value and more reliable brand. At kahit na mas mahal ang Civic over Elantra or Lancer, mababawi naman daw yun sa resale value.

Mababa ba ang resale value ng Elantra?

With Honda, you're typically paying 100k more (like-for-like, same features) so that you can retain 50k more in resale value after several years. I don't think that's a dealmaker or dealbreaker, either way.

    -

I like the Elantra's 6AT. Responsive, good highway legs.

Resale, not sure. Not enough secondhand Elantras to form a consensus, yet. Or, that could be a bonus. It may mean current owners are happy with their cars and don't want to sell them.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I just love my FD.. I know I'm outdated na pero when I bought my wife the Celerio, Hinahanap hanap ko pa din yung Civic ko.. It's a very comfortable ride.. Though now I have plans of selling it, to upgrade sa newer Civic or an SUV.. I'm still considering keeping it.. My 2.0S is the best car I've ever had.. I'll check out the new Civic and see if it's something that will fit my needs.. :D

Kia & Hyundai.

About the Civic FB, people say that it needs more refinement in terms of design. I think people who owns an FD will say about this kasi ang balita ko, mas maganda pa daw yung interior ng FD kaysa FB. People like me who doesn't have the FD will surely find the FB acceptable. Tsaka IMO, ok naman yung Civic but of course there are other compact sedans out there are look better. The notion that Honda is a very reliable & trusted company is what keeps them going even if their design is not as impressive as the competitors.

^if you're getting the Civic, try to get the Japan CBU if meron pa. More toys and better front design than Thailand built.

Ang meron na lang ay CRV from Japan (discount of 100K - 2.0L & 130K - 2.4L... price after discount, same as Thailand na hehe)

When I checked it out, na-warningan na ako ng mga tsikoteers dito about the low headroom kay noong sinakyan ko, maingat ako hahahaha!

    Advantages:
    - cheapest amongst the three (after discounts), wala na kong equity from my car plan.
    - leg and head room is very good, my passengers are often surprised by the space.
    - comes with a touchscreen head unit in which I added the GPS option (7k)
    - free iPad mini
    - it's fun and sporty to drive
    - exterior looks better for me
    - being my first car, I want something that the kid in me will like but at the same time able to handle my daily family tasks.

    Disadvantages
    - Interior look is spartan and you might not like the plastic material that was used on the dash.
    - Trunk space issue is well known but it's ample enough for us. We were able to fit in a large travel bag, a stroller, and three smaller bags in it during our recent vacation. Take note, our stroller is combi lightweight/compact one; not the same one from Sir Niky's review which I think is Graco.
Plus may ipad mini hehe!

Malabo talaga magkasya mga gamit sa likod kasi yung stroller ko ay yung Graco na may table like from sir niky's review hehe

    Agree

Sabi kasi ng SA, ECON is advisable for use only in heavy traffic. Pag highway driving, wag daw gagamitin.

Actually my heart is all for the Hyundai Accent HB CRDI pero maliit tsaka mahaba ang pila.

^ Sir kung naturn off ka sa Lancer EX cuz of it's small trunk then why do you desire the Accent? :-)

Buti nga ngayon may iPad mini pa, sayang wala kameng ganyan noon. hehe

Gusto ko talaga Accent kasi tama ka, diesel so matipid but that's for myself lang... para bang toy car Pero hindi talaga pwede given the circumstance coz I have 2 kids and a baby na kailangan ng stroller at madami pang ibang gamit.

As for the Lancer's small trunk, I think smaller pa rin ang trunk ng Accent. Chaka gusto ni mrs. malaki yung trunk.. Gusto rin naman Lancer, not saying that I hate it, yun lang nga there are other sedans to consider. Kaya ang hirap din mamili, I'm sure everyone here wants the perfect car pero hind ganyan eh.

    *sir 3ple4

We do have the same dilemma. The only difference could be the family size. (family of 3 pa lng kami). We did our research as well as hunting and we ended up choosing between the Lancer EX and Accent CRDi. Haven't test driven both but we've taken a good look on the EX (wala kasing unit on display para sa Accent hatch). Maliit nga ung trunk ng EX especially if you have a baby on board and two kids. We've been there and marami talagang gamit si baby - plus you have two kids pa. I do agree with her na "maganda" talaga ung exterior ng Accent but I can say "guwapo" naman para sa EX.

Happy hunting!

Mag-isip muna or pray for divine intervention hehehe!

Last week I went to Hyundai Manila Bay at meron silang display ng Accent HB CRDI manual. Maybe if you're in the area, you can have a look.

Good luck for the both of us, may we not regret our final choice!
