It's a very crowded market boasting lots of tech, toys, turbos, driver aids, and moonroofs, all pulled by 1.5L engines and priced between 1.1M to 1.7M.

Which one would you pick and why (list is as of July 2023)?

    1. Changan CS55 Plus
    2. Changan Uni-T
    3. Chery Tiggo 7 Pro
    4. Ford Territory
    5. GAC Emkoo
    6. GAC GS4
    7. Geely Azkarra
    8. GWM Haval H6
    9. Haima S7
    10. JAC S3
    11. Jetour Dashing
    12. Maxus D60
    13. MG HS
    14. MG RX5

Personally, I wouldn't include the Territory sa list.

Its a Ford and its locally backed by Ford's local network or dealers and service centers.

If Toyota released a Vios na made in China, would you include it sa list?

    ***back to the thread***

If I'm buying a "Chinese car" right now

Geely - as its under Sojitz
Maxus - as its under AC

    None.
At least this is my way of not patronizing major chinese product.
    For not respecting our sovereignty.

    Medyo OT nga noh.

Same. Plus I am loyal to Toyota. Even if I wanted another brand, I'm stuck with Toyota because the casa branch I go to has excellent service

Same sentiment here. With vehicles at least you still have a choice unlike with other items where made in China is a foregone fact.

Just an observation. The people I know who bought Chinese cars, including the ever popular Ford Territory, are usually first time buyers or are not too keen with cars in general. My personal theory is that they are looking at cars like they're smartphones and not well... cars. I'm guessing it was the flashy tech and barrage of marketing that got them to bite the bullet.

I also share the same sentiments with others, I won't buy Chinese cars. But not necessarily because I hate China. Its just that I feel that these brands are quite young and are not proven yet in the Philippines.

Last night I thought I saw the silhoutte and front face of a Porsche Macan driving towards me, but when it passed by I saw the "Jetour" lettering on the front nose.

Rather as not considering buying all Chinese cars as a whole,
Why not just not buy those that are owned by the Chinese State? (SAIC, FAW, DongFeng, Changan)
Since the reason is not respecting our sovereignty rather than the Chinese cars reliability, etc.

Personally, i don't like Chinese cars because of the lack of long term reliability and resale value.
What worries me is that These Chinese car manufacturers are switching to EV and since the Japanese, Europeans and US Electric Vehicles prices are way to high, i might be inclined to get a Chinese EV car in the future.

I am not knowledgeable enough to know on whose manufacturers are state-owned and I won't waste my time to research this stuff.
As long as they are Chinese, better to stay out of it.
I am aware that almost all products we are using are from China, but at least cars are a major one and might make a dent/impact.

Bought Ford territory because it's cheap, their price point is on point plus available na agad

Needed a new car and it's the cheapest na avaible, waiting for the CRV sana but matagal pa siguro yun. By next year siguro pag hinde ba waiting

Iyong intent yata ng original question ay alin ang best option sa Chinese made cars.

Hindi kung bibili ba ng Chinese car or hindi?

hehe, for a moment akala ko nasa Pitstop Cafe section ako.

Back on topic, i'd go for the Uni-T ..., but realistically its a toss between Territory and Coolray because of dealer network and sales.

Basically the summary for the majority of answers to the original question: "I don't know because I don't like Chinese cars"
