Correction, the Aveo's SOHC 1.5 is fuel injected. (Multi-Point Fuel Injection)

They might be talking about this new Aveo, which by the way is initially available only in sedan form(hatchback Aveos for now remain the same).

I'd still probably take a Kia Rio over the Aveo.

I'd like to see a comparison test between the two in the future.

GM Daewoo Auto and Technology is actually catching up quickly.

GM Daewoo Auto & Technology beat Kia Motors last month as South Korea's second-biggest car seller, a growth that underpinned General Motors' Asia expansion amid losses in North America, according to figures released Tuesday.

GM Daewoo said April sales rose 39 percent to 126,230 vehicles from last year and four-month sales jumped 53.5 percent to 475,826. Kia said its April sales fell 1.3 percent to 113,406 and rose 10 percent in the first four months to 466,936 units.

The black Aveo in the photo is the Special Edition model, it comes with 15-inch alloys on 55-series low profile tires, and body kit. Starting price is P635K.

The base model Aveo that goes for P570K has steel wheels with full covers.
