Similar platform ata yung Santa Fe at Sorento, as Hyundai and Kia are sister companies. They should be about the same size. Sa local pricing na lang nagkakatalo yan.
The mid spec and TOTL Sta Fe has more features compared to the Sorento. Base models almost the same but the Sorento is more affordable. Sta Fe is more Euro inspired while the Sorento is more American IMHO. Performance mostly the same the suspension of the Sorento more stiffer. It all comes down on budget and what you want in the car.

Mas madame ata TOTL feature ng Sorento. Pero mas mura ung Santa Fe. ung second row seating nung Santa Fe na sslide, giving more room to the 3rd Row, pero mas maganda ang ingress/egress ng Sorento sa 3rd row seats. Meron pa ba kayo ma add for comparison?
The two are basically twins, like the Escape and Tribute. Same engine, same transmission, same chassis. It all boils down to preference. AFAIK, the TOTL Sorento is cheaper than the TOTL Santa Fe.
I'd go for the Sorento. I like it's styling more.

Still waiting if its reliable and durable since di namin kami every 3 years nagpapalit ng sasakyan. IMHO Sta. Fe looks vs. Sorento performance.
sorento vs sta.fe
for bigger space in the 1st and 2nd row st.fe
engine sta fe
price sorento
ground clearance sorento
kia and hyundai are sister company
Engine and tranny same lang yan, as with space.
Sorento has lower acquisition cost.
Cost of maintenance mas mura ng konti ang sorento.
The SF looks more upscale to me. But then again its a matter of preference and budget. The SF for me is overpriced though.
Yeah. Its over price yet nagkalat dito sa amin ang sta. Fe. Buy a car that will suite your style.
They're more of sosy grey market dealers pero they always come short of after-sales customer service - at least that's what i've read in the very long thread about the Starex. I would've thought Sta.Fe wouldn't be so different. Or are they?
Ang Kia may Columbia Motors so that's one point for the Sorento.
Same position right now but I'm leaning towards to the Sorento. The Santa Fe is at P1.7m just add a bit more and you get AWD, leather seats, feels like the sorento has a bit bigger space on the 3rd row, panoramic sunroof.
Thing is CAMPI is just 1 month away and they might introduce new models so I'm patiently waiting![]()
Correct me if I am wrong, but the reason Sta. Fe is pricier is because of all the tech gadgets (hill assent assist ....). Otherwise, pareho lang. If you can do without the dazzle, go Sorento

Could be.... I was really a hardcore Santa Fe fan but upon sitting on a TOTL Sorento everything changed![]()
I thought to myself that both of the Sorento and Sante Fe will be mostly for city driving and maybe some out of town from time to time, but I could not think of a place that we'll go to that's to steep that I'll have to use a "hill assist control". Same with the "downhill break control", I can always use a low gear for this one. The flex steer, i could live without that also.
The Santa Fe was still lingering in our minds so I had to make-up something to justify the shift to Sorento. It was the instrument cluster with fuel meter on one side and the temp and shift display on the other, I think they are digital/LED and if they were to break you might have to replace the whole instrument cluster. As for the Sorento it was still traditional fuel and temp indicators.
I also preferred the audio system of the Sorento how it's got the red/orange display. The shift gate to manual transmission, on the Santa Fe the shift gate is going away from you, you have to push/switch it to the right then you can go up/down. On the Sorento the shift gate if to the left so it's closer to you, I got short arms so less stress there.
These are just some of the things I had to make-up to pick the Sorento over the Santa Fe, but if anything new is coming out this September, not necessarily Hyundai or KIA, I think we'll wait![]()
I've seen both the sorento and sta Fe in my interstate drive from nJ to DC. The Sta Fe is definitely a looker even at wide highways of America, the sorento wala lang, mas Maganda pa tignan yun mga American suvs

Another difference you might consider is the power steering. Electric ps for sta fe vs. the traditional hydraulic type for the sorento.

I know this might be more on the park assist feature pero i na realize ko na there's so many things that could go wrong pag electronic ang steering...tapos while driving pa.
