gamit nila for service, saka yun nga, yung parts and availability, madaling mahanap and madaling maayos.

About naman po sa pie chart,

It proves na talagang merong improvement ang economy, yung mga promos and loan options between bank and car dealer para maka-avail ang certain buyer lalo na kung first time buyer ng sasakyan.

yung pagiging practical wise ng previous car owner na bibili ulit ng sasakyan, and the strategic gameplay ng car dealer, pag dating sa sales, kung ano ang ipantatapat between sa bare/standard, mid-end at TOTL, pag dating sa pricing.

fort vs montero pa din pala. lamang ng konti yun fort. considering na ang laki na ng discount ng montero (70-115k) and maliit lang discount sa facelifted fort (25k-40k). pogi kasi yun gunmetal mags siguro ng fort hehe

2014:


In the span of a decade, we see the ff. changes in Filipinos' buying patterns:

* MPVs and AUVs used to be king. Before the rise of the ubiquitous pick-up based SUV, everyone was driving around in their Crosswinds, Adventures, and of course the hot new kid on the block, the Innova. The Fortuner was only recently introduced and hasn't yet become the staple big car of the country.

2005: Not much choice kasi during that time for the SUV, just the CRV and RAV4- both CUVs without much seating capacity (and so we bought a van... )

* Compacts still had significant market share. This was still the time when the Altis, Mazda 3, and Civic lorded over the streets, and only the Vios and City were serious contenders from the subcompact segment. Today, with the subcompact and minicar segment offering great variety, lots of features, and cheaper operating costs at a lower purchase price, suddenly noone wants a compact sedan.

2005: Because the City, IMO, looks very ugly (sorry for those who still own this model - either you love it or you hate it)... And the new Vios ala Camry just came out... Also, the sizes of the subcompacts are just too small compared to the compacts...(but we bought a tiny Jazz, and we loved it) Now, the subcompacts are offered at about the size of the compacts in 2005,- which is good,- and they look good too now...

* CUVs were prevalent. Fuel efficiency wasn't yet the top priority during the time (if you read reviews from this era, FC wasn't even a major discussion point). So even if the 2nd gen CR-V only gets 5 km/L, it was still selling like pandesal. If today you'd buy a Fortuner if you had over a million, back then it was the CR-V and X-Trail.

2005: 5-seater gas guzzlers,- nah!!! And they're priced way up there!

Practical 7/8-seater with the a little over the footprint of a current subcompact..... Vios has 3 body changes since 2005 and Fort/MS are relatively more recent ones....

the higher variant innova also eats into the fort/ms pie although indirectly. a high end innova is actually more or less priced the same as a entry level fort or ms(even the AT models). but more consumers would still pick the innova. in the rp market the innova is king. the vios is queen.

Dear bro.- In my books, the Vios is the Prince....

However, if you'd like to view the 3 body changes in the past 9 years (like lipo, plastic surgery, pvssyk!p, b**b/*ss lift, tummy tuck etc),- then I agree 100% that the Vios is the Queen...

Wow. Wigo sales surpasses that of Mirage's. Iba talaga ang Toyota badge. Or maybe, dahil bagong release lang ang Wigo kaya mainit pa.

I think this illustrates how badly the Wigo is doing. It's the cheapest car from the manufacturer with the biggest dealer network, and it's still just barely leading the Mirage and Eon, which are two to three years old, already.

It might be a supply issue... but I'm thinking that there is also the possibility that the Wigo is just a step too far downmarket for the Toyota brand. They would have been better off bringing in an Aygo-level car... one slightly more expensive than the Wigo (say, Mirage-level in price) but with higher quality.

Maybe when supply normalizes, it'll start dominating... but I think second year sales will drop behind the Mirage.
