For that budget, I'd get a Nissan Sentra B13 ('91-'95) or B14 ('96-'99).
- Fuel efficiency is about the same between these cars, roughly 8 km/L in the city for the MT versions.
- You can upgrade the B13 Sentra to look like the USDM Sentra SE-R. You can change its engine from the 1.6L GA16DE to the venerable 2.0 SR20DE for much less money than converting a Civic's PH16 engine to the 160-hp B16A.
- Parts are still highly available in Banawe.

Dami nga mods, mahal naman. For the price of an old Civic you can get a 2003 model Lynx.

June 2nd, 2012 08:49 PM #6AE101 nalang. Napakatibay nito at napakadali at napakamura i-maintain. Its sheer number still running on the streets and also its wide taxi usage is proof to its reliability. For modification, changing to a 4AGE engine would do wonders to this car.

Corolla (XE model ha) = hirap timplahin ng karburador at patinuin ang menor pag nagloloko and idle-up actuators)

toyota corolla - power steering problem
lancer itlog - underchassis kalampagin and servo problems
bought a 2nd hand car last year,
honda esi and ae101 ang choices ko,
natuloy ko yung ae101. and yes, the power steering problem
surplus na rack and pinion, and okei na.
goodluck sa pagpili sir

practicality wise and among your choices, i would go for the civic.
but if you have other choices, also consider the sentra b14 super saloon.
Buhay na buhay ang BGC this evening. Bukas halos lahat ng restaurants. Sabi pa nung isang cashier...
