Nasa priorities mo na yan. The Pajero has better resale value and bigger seating capacity than the 1st gen Montero Sport. The Montero Sport has the same 2.8L engine the Pajero has, 4WD which the Field Master Pajero does not have, and you can get it for much, much cheaper than a same year Pajero.

I believe the Montero Sport should be somewhat more agile than the FM Pajero due to the lighter body. The Montero Sport is heavily based on the same-era Strada, but the rear suspension is the same as the one in the FM Pajero if I'm not mistaken. So ride comfort should be pretty similar. Parts? Being Mitsubishi, that shouldn't be a problem for both though the Montero Sport may have some difficulty with model specific trim parts since there aren't many of these in the Philippines.

Overall, the ride quality of the Montero Sport should be similar with the Pajero since they feature the same sort of suspension setup and are both on a ladder frame chassis.

The 2.5D4D is less powerful than the Montero and has no 4x4. The 2.7VVTi is a very thirsty car with just so-so performance and no 4x4 as well. Both cars should do quite well in the lubak since they are both pickup derived SUVs. But if the Montero has similar ride quality as the Pajero, that would mean ride comfort is a lot better than the Fortuner's. Both are very talented in the baha as well (well, maybe except for the Fort 2.7VVTi, being a gas engine). But the Fort may be more vulnerable, having lots of electronics.

salamat sa lahat ng inputs nyo guys... ok na ok ang desisyon ko na montero pinili ko... kahit mas madami sabi na mas maganda ang pajero FM hehe.. madalas naman kasing 2 or 3 lang ang sakay ko and mejo masikip dito sa lugar namin isang kotse at tricycle pag nagkasalubong sa daan sobra sikip na.. hehe.. and mas gusto ko no 3rd row seat para malalagyan ko pa ng gamit or subwoofer hehe.. and ang pinaka gusto ko sa montero high ground clearance kesa sa mga rav4, crv, xtrail... kaya sana umulan na para ma testing ko na agad toh sa baha haha.. and mas trip ko mag offroading kesa sa mga mabibilis na kotse, hirap mag matulin ngayon sa daan natin dami lubal sayang ang lowprofile hehe.. by the way im 22 y/o lang pala sa tingin nyo bagay montero sakin? ndi ba parang tinakas ko lang sa erpat ko? hahaha

There are actually quite a lot of things that you can do with the 4M40 engine, despite being old school, if you want it to go faster. :devil: Maangas naman tingnan ang Montero. I actually like the way this version looks more than the current one. Parang sobrang city slicker na ang dating. Ito eh talagang lalaking lalaki. Bagay naman yan, IMHO. Maganda naman talaga. Ang tingin ng ibang tao sayo eh nasa ugali naman yan. If the people around you know that you are capable of buying and maintaining a car like this, respetadong tao ka na.

haha lalaking laki ba dating ng old model montero? haha yun nga ang napansin ko bakit ang daming monterong bago ngayon kesa sa lumang montero? and ayoko na kasi ng kotse sawa na ko mag ingat sa mga lubak, mag bagal pag may humps... at tipid pa sa palinis ang montero.. para sakin mas madumi mas maporma haha.. gusto ko yung may mga putik putik sa mga fender talagang pang offroad dating.. haha kaso hindi na chick magnet... hehe

I really love the design of the gen1 more than the gen2. Mas masculine ang dating nya.

To be honest i want to buy a gen 1 monty upto this day.. Mas matagtag sha compared to the FM but FC wise mas maganda fc neto compared sa fm.

I think mas maaga nag-spool ang turbo nila. With our Trooper 4JX1 before, the whistling can be heard only after surpassing 2000rpm. Some are also louder and more evident than others. If you want it loud, I think you'd want to install a blow off valve.
