Don't bother. The 1.8 is decent, but not really quick. Get it if you want the luxury features, but if you want speed, go for the Mazda 2.0R or the Focus 2.0 Sport... those two will put a smile on your face.

Mayroon nang cosmetic upgrade yung Mazda3... and it doesn't look much different from the current one. Same with the Corolla.

Brand new "old" cars aren't that bad. Like you've said, new "new" cars usually have first year bugs that have to be ironed out. "Old" cars are usually fully developed, with no more bugs. In that case, the best cars on the market now would be the Lancer and the Sentra... ...but seriously, the Lancer is actually a great car that gets no love because of its dated chassis and design.

I agree with you there sir niky. But I just can't help hate that feeling when you just bought a brand new "old" car then suddenly a new model comes out. Parang nakaka-ingit na ewan. hehehe. Just my opinion though. That's why as much as possible we refrain from buying facelifted cars which has been around for almost 3-4 years. Especially if the body used is from the old version. Because for sure, in a year or so a new model will come out. IMO, facelifts are just marketing gimmicks to sell more of their cars. And also possibly add upgrades. But overall it's still the same car. Repackaged lang kumbaga.

About the Lancer, ours is the second facelifted lancer, the one with the protruding bumper (pizza version). And to be honest, I hate it's suspension. It's so bouncy. It's as if you're riding in a van and not a compact sedan! lolz! Sorry for the OT!

yup...I really like the 2.0 focus but sadly hinde pasok sya s budget not unless may makitang 2nd hand n2 (mejo mahirap ata)...hehe

sir may seat recliner ung CVC 2K6 galing nga eh hi tech din ung controls. spacious din though parang mas spacious ung MZ3 especially sa trunk. ung tools may kanya kanyang lalagyan sa trunk hehe galing pang 5S ba. tapos ung 1.8 can act like a 1.5 with regards to fuel consumption. almost fully loaded na cya... problem lang if u like to replace ur stereo system kc like the MZ3 built in na sa dashboard. ung glove compartment medyo maliit pero atleast may lalagyan ka na sa center.

I have a City 2k6 but the CVC has a little more space inside.

I love the looks of Mazda 3 and it's handling is definitely amazing! "hands down!" not much power though for a sporty look sedan. fuel economy is almost same as altis 1.6L.
But when the 06civic was released, my eye turned on this one. fuel milage is very good for a 1.8 liter. And price is almost same as M3s and Rollas.
Still would be your preference...

mazda 3 for me...sarap i drive sa corners...handles better than my SiR...kulang lang talaga sa hp ang 1.6V...good thing it has activematic if you want a little "rezing-rezing"

IMO....depende sa preference mo.....

classy full sedan- civic ako for its spacious interior(in its class), fuel mileage, classy/ sporty looks and nice lines.

sporty looks- lalo kung binata ka, go for mazda3 lalo yung red with 17"/50/205....may makita ako sa macau...gwapo!!medyo may kasikipan lang loob kumpara sa vic.

i dont really like the altis though..sawa n ko sa hitsura...
tingin alang talo alin man sa 2 gwapo ka .

... sa civic naman sa ngayon siguradong headturner kasi bago pa. nung isang araw nga ewan ko kung nakita ako nung may-ari, may nakasalubong kami napatitig ako. hahaha.

hahaha ... ako din last Sunday dun sa Graceland sa Quezon may naka-park na bluish silver unit. di ako nahiya dun sa owner swimming nearby - inikutan ko talaga to check him out, i mean his car - gwuapo talaga :-)
