Discontinued na ang Getz eh, to make way for the I10 and Accent. In between kasi ata yung size nya sa 2 cars na ito... Kung meron pa nyan plus the diesel engine version, panalo sana un!

Max yung 850k, but I prefer not to go over 800k... May plan din kasi na change to a bigger vehicle in 3-5 years time pag bigger na ang family.

If you're selling in three years, get a two-year old secondhand. You lose the least in terms of resale value, and you will still have enough warranty to cover you until you sell it.

Not worth getting brand new if you're going to sell right away. Waste of money.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Thanks Niky!

I would like to get a 2nd hand too. However, I am not great with cars so there is a chance that I could get fooled. In 2010, I almost bought an ondoy victim car. Luckily my father brought his trusted mechanic prior to the final deal...

Maybe someone can give me a trust worthy second hand car seller/dealer?

My 3 years usage then upgrade is just an optimistic estimate. Probably its after 5 years or so unless tumama ako sa lotto.

If you're going to keep it for 5 years or so, brand new na. Still feels different getting a brand spanking new car out of CASA.

Pero kung two to three years nga, 2nd hand.

    Just want to share,

I spoke with my wife last night and gave pros and cons of getting the 2nd hand. Eto response nya.

"Alam mo, Tucson talaga gusto ko. Pero since di pa kaya ng budget natin, I had to accept na we should get a smaller car for practicality. We went to the smallest acceptable car. I don't want to go smaller than that."

She is implying that 2nd hand small car is smaller than the brand new. I guess more pride pag brand new. So brand new it is! Keep the wife happy. Hehehe.

We are still waiting for the bank's approval. We'll get the sports/special edition in Red. Oks lang ba yung at 785k? Di ko na mapiga ang mga agent for discount greater than 60k... I guess standard na nila yun. Unfortunately wala pa nag email ng final qoute nila...

Any idea how much ang discount sa Accent 1.6? Hehehe. From City to Elantra to City to Altis to Fiesta to Rio then finally to Vios.

I really miss my Civic FD, 14 months ko na nahulugan. It got wrecked.

I like Elantra... However lampas na sa budget. Gusto sana namin tapos loan in 3 years. Mag extend ng 4 years loan kung elantra.

Vios na talaga kukunin mo sir vefyjeph?

Personally kasi, the Vios is the most boring choice in the market right now. It doesn't offer anything outstanding. Wala kang gusto sa ibang ~800k subcompacts?

    - Ford Fiesta 1.6 Sport
    - Hyundai Accent 1.6 GLS
    - Mazda 2 1.5R
    - Honda Jazz 1.3 S
    - Honda City 1.3 S
    - Kia Rio 1.4 EX Hatchback
    - Suzuki Swift 1.4 VVT

siyempre you cannot blame anybody if a buyer wants to buy a vios kahit boring yung styling niya or may features siya na wala sa ibang kakumpetensyang kotse. it's greatly due to practicality and the parts of the vios is available anytime, anywhere. and FC is not that bad.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Would you know kung ano difference nung standard 1.5G sa SE edition... Based sa pictures parang yung mags lang at SE emblem, probably leather seat din?... worth it ba yung 25k difference?
Sir heto yung kaibahan ng 1.5 G Vios VERSUS 1.5 SE Vios

    1.cloth upholstery
    2.chrome shifter
    5.TRD front grille
    6.SE Badge
7.HID headlamps without projector = heto hindi ako impressed kasi bakit pa nilagyan ng HID kung wala namang projector, mas effective yung buga ng ilaw kapag may projector, pero according sa ibang SE owners ay ok naman daw kahit walang projector.

For me yung 25 K ay sulit, kasi iba talaga ang porma ng SE , kung type mo yung TRD mags mas ok hindi ka na mag-papalit or bibili ng mags.

Vios 1.5 G/SE or Yaris same engine, just different body, both are practical & reliable car.

I'm not blaming anyone for choosing a Vios. Tinatanong ko lang kung Vios na ba over all the other choices.

We settled for the 1.3 Vios as a safe choice amongst all the other options. I don't consider myself a newbie, having owned a problematic 1995 AT Lancer (which we traded in for the Vios) but I wanted something I don't have to baby too much.

    Our priorities:
    - passenger space
    - AT fuel economy (wife-friendly)
    - relatively cheap maintenance
    - durability

Low on the list were looks, power and performance since it's going to be a family city car with the occasional summer road trips.

We wrote off the following choices:
    - City: wife tried riding one in the back with two other adults and she thought it was too cramped.
    - Accent: high door sills in the back keeps the kids from looking out.
    - Fiesta: too small but the hatch was one of the wife's top contenders.
    - Mazda 2: my first love (I learned to drive on its granddaddy the Ford Laser) but the AT was out of our budget.
    - Rio (new): wasn't out that time yet and the previous gen is notoriously thirsty for its size CMIIW.
    - Lancer Cedia: Lancer na naman?!!!
    - Sentra DX: looks too big for the engine.

Problema lang sa common car is because it's so common my wife has to look twice and make sure it's me when I pick her up especially at night :D

If your planning to keep the car in a very long time. (e.g. 10 years or more)
out of your choices, yan na i think ang pinaka less ka na magkakaron ng problema.
the more common the car gets, mas madami parts and mas madami ang
makakapagservice nyan vios nyo in the long run.

if decided na talaga, goodluck sir sa bagong ride, enjoy!

Best deal I got so far for the vios is 70k discount for 1.5G and 65k discount for 1.5 SE. Still waiting for the bank's approval.

If I have the moolah, I'll get the City or Elantra. We actually have the vios ranked at the bottom of the cars we like. But eventually choose it for its practicality.

The Vios doesn't look so dull, actually. It still has an appeal no matter how common it is on the road, especially if it's bronze (aqua color looks ugly imo)

My only gripe is how the interior feels so darn cheap, as if it wasn't given a little attention to detail. And, how the instrument cluster is placed on the middle. Needs a lot of getting-used-to, I think.

But nonetheless, among all the other choices I think it would still be the best daily beater with utmost practicality all throughout your ownership.

    Congratulations on your new ride.
