Turbo diesels are usually slightly under-rated.

Still, what matters is how the vehicle compares to competitors on the same dyno.

If I recall right, the Trailblazer at Speedlab is 170-175 whp... while the Mitsubishi 2.5 is around 165... so 160 is pretty darn good.

Of course, of the three, the Trailblazer is the fastest... it has a very broad powerband.

I've got one right now. Just V-Boxed it the other day... dirty launch, non-straight road, 9.3 seconds. I suppose with a straight drag, it'd be down to 9.0 or so.

New MU-X feels close to the Fortuner... bit softer in power delivery, but definitely in the 11-second range.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Last time I did testing on Monties, the ATs were in the high 10 to low 11 range. Faster than anything else at the time.

Not bad, but i wonder if it can still hold its own against the much newer engine of toyota (2.8) and ford (3.2) in terms of acceleration?

Butt-dyno says the Toyota is similar.

VBox says the Everest is slower, because of transmission response and the lack of high-end power. If I recall, it's around 12 seconds.

Up at highway speeds, the Ford 3.2 is very strong, and is likely more capable at over 100 km/h, but it has a very narrow powerband and the transmission typically holds on to gears way too long. (revving the engine over 3,500 rpm is completely useless. See here: http://www.topgear.com.ph/news/techn...anger-wildtrak )

Yeah, I know C! has measured a quicker 0-100 time for the Ranger 6AT. Don't know if they use rollout, though.

But point is moot, considering the 4D56T is going out of production, already. Quite eager to see how the new 2.4 stacks up.

We are planning to acquire a 7 seater diesel fed SUV.

In your opinion, does these new SUVs/PPVs are better than the present Pajero and Patrol? Lets assume the price difference doesn't matter.

I actually tune all my cars in speedlabs .
