Solid naman ng 4th gen eve. 1 year na mahigit and no major issues. 😂

While its hard to justify against the ease of maintenance of Toyota, its harder to justify the lack of safety features in a vehicle that costs that much. To each his own I guess heheh.

If looks alone ang basehan, fortuner pa rin ako. Our 10 year old gen1 fort is still reliable after clocking almost 200k in the odo. Was actually eager to check the MT fort dahil na miss ko mag manual. Feels like a downgrade from our gen1 fort.

I test drove the 3 SUVs on the same day. First I tried was the everest dahil ford yung unang dealer na nadaanan namin. Was not expecting much dahil last nga sya sa list ko. But this car set the bar. Dami ko tuloy hinanap sa fort at monty after lol. 2.2 lang yung test drive unit that day but it felt more nimble than the other two.

Went back for another test drive the following week. Baka sakali kako mali lang first impression ko and still leaning towards monty.

Same here. I ended up getting the eve.

I always remind them to just push it harder hehe.

Same here paps.. 1st choice ko monty then fort.. but after testing all units... talagang Eve nalang..

I highly advice those.. who prefer to buy the fort and monty over the eve... DONT DO IT.. or else youll end up buying the Everest... Especially never test drive the Everest premium and Use adaptive cruise control... moonroof-- dont sit at the back you might fall asleep.. etc... at sigurado... hanap hanapin nyo lang yun... he he

I was like eto na ba yun? Siguro dahil 2.4 lang yung test unit. Iba naman siguro hatak pag yung 2.8 na which is not available at the time.

Aba, halos pareparehas pala tayo ng nangyari. I waited for the fort to come out, as I had high hopes for it, I even made a render based on the leaks, and sabi ko ito, pinaka maganda sa tatlo (eve, monty and fort). Plus lahat ng sasakyan namin na toyota, were very reliable, never bogged down, no big repairs. Reliability was a big factor for me, so I was really leaning on the fort. Second choice was the monty. When I had the chance to test drive the fort, I was slightly disappointed, or was i on denial?.....hehehe. I already had the paper specs of monty and the eve, and when i begun to compare, iwan na iwan ang fort V sa monty gls premium and eve 4x2 titanium premium. Test drove it and acceleration was sluggish, very sluggish, even when compared sa old VNT fort ng friend ko. Interior was great, minimalist but I liked the layout and was spacious. Fit and finish was great as well, and the 3rd row seating was also good, as it wasnt knee up position for me (but I was disappointed that it was still using the side fold method for the 3rd row, i was wondering, isuzu, chevy and ford was able to do it on their PPV, why cant toyota do it on the fort?). And the tagtag issue of the 1st gen seems to have disappeared. Tried the monty, medyo sluggish ang acceleration pero once youre on high rpm, very agile na sya. i also liked the suspension, dito ko naramdaman na medyo matagtag pa din pala yung new fort. Di rin ako naniniwala sa SUA, combo to ng driver error and yung "feature" ng old monty (2011 below) na pwede i shift from P to any position by just using shift lock (no need to depress the brakes). But monty's interior fit and finish was not good, it was same as MUX. Tapos knee up pa din sa 3rd row (monty is the only PPV na hindi scalloped ang flooring sa 3rd row) and 2 step system pa din ang pag fold ng 3rd row. Same pa din ng old gen ang interior space, masikip, it felt like I was driving a CUV but this made the monty easier to maneuver and seems more agile. Last on the list was the Eve....and the rest is history......very satisfied and proud owner of the Everest.

Regarding reliability, among the 3 newest SUVs (fort, eve and monty), engine/chassis/suspension has been used since 2011 by the ford ranger T6 and no major issues except for the turbo issue of which has since been rectified on the T6, the everest and the new ranger. I'm not saying that the monty and fort are not reliable, mas bago lang yung platform nila and not proven. Sa after sales service naman, the new ford ph GM is focussed on improving this kaya yung issue ng headlight leveling ng unit ko was resolved in around 2 weeks (compared sa flywheel ng mirage ko na umabot pa ng 6 months, eh alam na naman ng mitsu na marami ng issue na ganito, di pa sila nag recall or nag stocked ng marami). Sa parts naman, nanjan naman na ang mazford, although mas readily available pa din ang toyota parts. mahaba na post ko, sorry. i have previously posted my comparison.

So as glenn_manikis mentioned, for those who are set on the monty or the fort, dont test drive the everest.

Yan nabuhay ang thread natin ulit.

From previous post, yung literally na battle between Eve and Fort, sa tingin ko yung Fort pa ang bumangga sa Ambiente na Eve pero wasak yung harap ng Fort at tanggal pa yung left front wheel vs sa Eve gasgas at yupi lang ng kunti ang tama. Which means matibay talaga yung Eve natin. And naala ko pa dati I was joking here na mabigat ang Eve which means mas matibay din compare sa ibang SUV. Lol..

As for the features, sa Trend Model pa lang panalo na compare sa ibang mid range model sa iba. Sa airbags pa lang di ka magdadalawang isip na you're in good hands pag medyo napunta sa alanganin. How much more sa Titanium model natin. As for me, 4 months ko din pinagisipan yan at nagresearch bago ako nagdesisyon na Eve Trend kukunin ko. Nadagdagan pa mga issue sa Fort with Jerky Tranny. Luckily may available kaagad na unit, Red color una pinareserve ko, then nung nalaman ko na may new model na with sync 3, I change it immediately to new model na white color, kasi walang Red na available.

So far so good, napapangiti kami palagi pag sumakay kami sa Eve namin.

Probably majority ng suv buyers will just test drive at most two brands because most of us don't have the luxury of time to visit the dealers, scheduled a drive test, etc. But if nagtest drive ka ng big 3, definitely you'll get the Eve unless ayaw mo nun features ni Eve at nakatatak pa din sa isip mo yun acronym ni FORD na madalas ginagamit ng mga bitter este haters. Hahaha.

Though di hamak maganda talaga specs ng everest. Pero personally I dont need those features like anti collision, lane keeping, etc. Mas pipiliin ko parin yung brand na reliable when it comes to after sales, parts and resale value. Truth hurts but sales speaks for Toyota.

Collision alert, lane keep, adaptive cruise control, heads up warning, brakes charge up in case you need to make a hard brake, cross traffic alert, auto levelling and dimming head lights, 10 airbags, Electronic stability control.... etc.

YES.. you dont need all those safety features...

Only until you encountered a major traffic accident...

Paps, useless talaga mga safety features na yan kaya nga most of them are seen on high end toyotas like the LC200.

But seriously, pinaka useless na feature sakin ng eve is the active park assist. My definition of useless as in never ko pa kasi na try lol. Nakakatakot eh. Anyone care to share their experience with this?

ako naka-Ranger wildtrak top-of-the-line with all the bells and whistles. This is now my favorite car.

safety features are useless, until something happens.
then, you'd ask why you didn't get it.

On the flipside, over reliance on these new technological safety features can also be dangerous. I still believe that safety begins with driver, and no amount of today's technology can effectively "neutralize" the nut behind the wheel.
