Can't complain much about FC naman talaga for the performance na binibigay ni 3.2.

Yup, lets keep fanboyism in check. Theres no data showing fortuner is reliable, all new engine and body din naman sila, kya di pa tried and tested.... pero agree, nakatatak pa din sa "atin" na pag toyota badge, reliable, na build ng toyota ang reputation na ganito dahil sa track record nila in the past 50 years or so dito sa atin. And the other brands needs to show this as well.

+1 Sir, as of now mga bago lahat ang ating SUV. But some models uses the same engine as their previous pick up brothers. Which means the engine has been improved and tested already. And for sure dumaan lahat sila sa matinding QC testing bago nila nirelease. Kaya MUX and Eve Engine is fine IMO. Yung Fort and Monty all new engine, tranny and body kaya it takes time bago natin masabi na realiable. Base in this forum may kanya kanya silang mga issue and hopefully maayos na para lahat tayo masaya.

Majority ng car buyer eh looks talaga.
Boring talaga magcheck ng specificaton, numbers, ratings..... Dito papasok ang marketing kung paano nila maipakita yan without being too technical.
Each car buyer has different priorities. It's not always about specs. Many people discount the aesthetics of a car, but in reality it's a big factor for the majority of car buyers.
While you scoff at the Fortuner for having drum brakes, less features, and a higher price compared to other PPVs, the reality is that Toyota is making the big bucks because they've outsold all other PPVs by at least 2 to 1.

Toyota. Mula tamaraw Fx, revo, corolla at ngaun vios. Subok na. It's not the best bang for the buck BUT Safe buy lang + the looks!
LOL.
Subukan mo lagyan ng chinese brand logo ung fortuner or vios kahit magbigay pa magdiscount at disc brake, sigurado bagsak sales.
Happy to see mataas sales ng Hyundai accent crdi, nawawala na kahit papaano stigma sa Hyundai brand. Or sumusugal lang ung ibang car buyers dahil tipid sila dahil diesel?
At the end of the day those safety ratings will still depend on the variant of the car you're getting and not just the name.

For all trim levels except the 4x4 V AT tinanggal ng Toyota ang curtain airbags.
He probably meant some. The everest & mux & ms have better features-price ratio and combined theyre outselling toyotas fortuner.
My question though is, is toyota limited by their "limited" monthly deliveries?
It takes 3 PPVs to outsell the Fortuner? You make it sound like its a shortfall for the Fortuner, when in reality the Fort has over 40% of the segment share. And this is despite the Fort V being much more expensive and underspec'd.

For every 10ppv buyers, 4 remain with fortuner while 6 opt for a non fortuner. Im just looking at numbers differently.
The Fortuner's numbers are in line with Toyota's 40% market share. That is, almost half of cars sold in the Philippines are Toyotas.
In the PPV race, almost 1 in 2 people get Fortuners. The rest (MUX, Everest, Montero, Trailblazer) have to settle for the remaining half.
This is a big jump from 2014 where the Fortuner was head to head with the Montero. In 2015, the Fortuner began to create space between it and the Montero, despite the latter being cheaper. In 2016, the Fortuner just blew everyone out of the water despite all-new models from Mitsubishi and Ford and its expensive price tag (which means higher margins for TMP).

It's not just price and specs alone.. There are many things to factor when buying cars. Some take into consideration after sale service, maintenance cost, availability of parts, and resale value. Hindi porket bang for the buck at feature packed magaling ka an sa sasakyan

I agree with you bro, ngaun, dyan naman papasok ung diskarte ng "may alam" sa sasakyan.
Ung iba, will stick to casa for the whole useful life of their vehicle para sure sila. Safety ba.
Ung iba, after warranty expires, didiskarte ng pyesa sa ibang shop, via online store, suki sa banawe, used parts apalit/kapalangan, kamaganak abroad, etc. And then ikabit nila DIY or their trusted mechanic para makatipid ng maintenance cost and ease out on parts sourcing. Kaya di nila masyado worry yun.
For the resale, too early to tell right now. Example is monty, taas ng resale dati then all of sudden biglang bagsak dahil sa sua.
