Moderator's Note: You three have been going on endlessly with all the name calling (fanboy, PWD, ngayon lang nagkaroon ng sasakyan, etc). This serves as your final warning, or you all get banned.

I expect that you have enough EQ to accept that people have dissenting opinions (without necessarily being fanboys of other brands). I also expect that you have enough maturity not to name-call or respond to snide remarks with equally classless retorts.

You like the Xpander? Good. It's a promising vehicle with its competitive price point, good feature set, and modern looks. That does not mean everyone else share's the same opinion and they definitely do not deserve to get mocked for having a different view.

You like the Rush? Good. It banks on Toyota's vaunted reliability and rides on the successful bandwagon of putting pretentious SUV styling cues on an MPV body. Yes, it's a Daihatsu. Yes, it might end up overpriced and under-spec'd based on Toyota's track record. But Toyota's track record also shows that they win in almost all segments they enter. No need to look far actually - the Avanza is still this segment's best seller despite not being class-leading in any way.

You like the BRV? Good. It has proven to be Honda's second best-seller in just a year's time, and is the only one to offer a modern CVT. It's also just as spacious as an Xpander. While some may not fancy Honda's pretentious marketing as a 7-seater SUV, it has been a proven formula to sell, since the BRV has outsold its pure MPV brother, the Mobilio, mostly because of a raised ride height and body cladding.

Bottomline - everyone has different opinions and there is absolutely no reason to brandish your own opinion as if it was the only correct one and belittle others who don't think the same.

    Uh-oh. Yari kayong 3.

Naisip ko lang, why don't each of you buy the three models in question here.

Then do a real world test, then you would be doing us, tsikoteers, TGP, and other car review sites a huge favour by doing the reviews yourself. hehe

P.s. bawal mga words na fanboi, pwd, and other derogatory words ah.

Wala naman akong balak bumili ng mga new mpvs in the future. I'm just pointing out that the rush could be a best seller because of the given reputation of the t badge here and then comes the name-calling. I never even said here that the xpander or other mpvs are no match for it. A fanatic would act that way but I'm not like that.

Heck, for me, there's still lots of cars from other classes that look far better with their exterior than them.

Got to try out the Ertiga awhile ago. Slightly smaller than the BRV and Xpander in terms of overall space whether in the second or third rows.

Basically, all these new MPVs are 5+2s - spacious 5 seaters, but can handle 7 if necessary with liveable space for adults in the 3rd row.

I actually find that all manufacturers have good offerings in this segment. The big boys (Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda) have all come out to play, showing how important the subcompact MPV segment has become. This is a far cry from the days when you only had the Nissan Grand Livina, Kia Carens, and Chevy Spin.

Personally, I don't see myself ever buying from this segment. Right now, for a million pesos, I'd definitely go for a compact - my past 3 cars have all been compacts after all. Putting myself in the shoes of a family man, I'd get a bigger crossover (which is why we recently got a CRV) or PPV. I also don't buy cars which I haven't driven before, so I really think it's premature to conclude the best in the segment given that the Rush isn't even here yet and noone has taken delivery of their Xpanders.

I was expecting unliveable space, but surprisingly the Avanza has a decent enough 3rd row for short trips and smaller folks:

Not as good as the BRV or Xpander, but slightly better than the Ertiga.

The Rush is longer (wheelbase and overall length) and wider than the Avanza on which it's based on so you can expect better space. Of course, better to verify once it arrives in our shores in May.

For reference, the Innova still has the best legroom and most comfortable (no overly bent knees) 3rd row:

I saw the Xpander in the metal last Thursday at a Robinson's mall, they had a white one on display. It had lots of space, but I was sadly underwhelmed.

It looks good on paper, but I'll pass on this mpv.
