Thank you for your testimonial with the Adventure. If you already have a big AUV, why not choose something like the New Vios, Hyundia Getz or Kia Picanto? I believe your wife is going to drive it?

anyway the aveo is available in the US and other 1st world countries, that only means pasado sya sa quality control

kaya pala takang-taka ako favorite nakawan ng spare tire yun fortuner and innova, yun pala puwede kuhain ang gulong kahit walang access sa loob ... that's what you get for the Toyota name, you pay more for the brand but less on the 2k7 up standard features.

Hello guys, i'm glad to know there's such a forum like this. This is my first post. I'm still in the process of deciding what car to buy. My first. I'm interested to get the toyota avanza. Is the engine of avanza 1.3 J exactly the same as that of Vios 1.3 J. I've read somewhere that Vios 1.3 J is the most fuel efficient car in the country. So i'm thinking that Avanza 1.3 J has the same efficiency. Am I right?

Magkaiba ang engines ng Avanza J and Vios J.

Engines are different. Even if they are the same, a lot of factors will come nto play like weight, aerodynamics, transmission gearing etc...

May very informative and extremely long thread about the Avanza sa Diesel forum. I suggest you look it up.

I have a Chevy (not Aveo) and Avanza G A/T.

    Comments:

Avanza has an irritating sqeak coming from the 3rd row seats. I hate the beeping sound when I'm in reverse. Its like a fake back-up sensor. I find it distracting and insulting (like I dont know if the AT in in R). Engine response can be better. Might be due to the 20w50 Toyota oil.

Aveo, expect expensive parts. CASA way overpriced. The only reliable OWM parts supplier I have found is Thunder. There are a few shops in Binondo area that sells parts but have not tried them yet. Almost imposible to find replacement and surplus parts.

Follow what your heart and mind dictates, like what I did. I have no regrets in owning an avanza.

Thanks a lot for all your insights. This forum is cool. It may take me another month to make the final decision. When funds are limited choices are becoming too narrow. It's okay and many thanks to all.

Off course dont buy w/o test drive. But then again, magkaiba ang dalawang iyan at iba silang i-drive. Sedan ang isa so mas nakahiga ka at kahit anong compare mo, mas comfy talaga. The other mas upright at cyempre driving/handling nito takes a little more effort pero mas marami kang maisasakay.

Kung sa sedan ka, why not Getz.

For a 7 seater w/ limited budget, Avanza J talaga.

I think you are right. Dito sa Dumaguete Avanza 1.5 (m/t) is priced at 798K while the Adventure GLX is priced at 765K (including discounts). Although parang ibang thread na ito pero I'm leaning towards the GLX adventure. Pero when it comes to fuel economy medyo mas okay ang Crosswind than adventure. Yong fuel consumption is a major consideration para sa akin cguro mag Van suzuki multicab na lang ako (surplus lang), very cheap pa at sabi nila 18 to 20 kilometers per liter. Hirap talaga magdecide.

Even more seats, pero mas malakas gas kesa Avanza. Saka tingnan mo kung masisikmura mo itsura.

sabi nila 18 to 20 kilometers per liter.
Sa highway lang yan. Impossible sa city.

Di naman masyado mahirap mag decide. Sedan o ppl carrier?

Sedan -> Getz o kaya new Vios

    Carrier -> Avanza J o Advi GLX diesel o Xwind/Innova.

Kung saan kaya budget d hangang duon.

Originally, my wife and I was thinking of getting a Getz or a Vios. We were luck enough to be able to have funds to buy an Avanza J. We are very happy with the purchase.

One advantage of the Avanza is that it has a higher ground clearance than a sedan.

Another advantage is that you sit higher than sedans so you can see more.

From the outside, it seems that it is cramped inside. Try it, it is not. In the third row seat, the avanza can fit 2 of me with elbow room to spare (I am 115Kgs ).

One disadvantage of the Avanza for me is that the ride is bouncier than a sedan. BUT, I can live with this. I am not sure, but since this vehicle is designed to carry 7 people, the suspension is sturdier than a sedan.

The avanza has 6 pcs of 3-point seatbelts and 1 lap belt (center seat, 2nd row).

BTW, the Avanza uses coil springs at the back. Unlike AUVs that typically uses leaf springs.

When the need arises, you can fold the seats for a lot of cargo space.

I'll choose the Avanza. Good resale value, cheaper maintanance, and it's a Toyota.
