It can be because of a plethora of reasons - from strong brand equity, good reliability track record, high resale value, ease of ownership, competitive pricing, and so on, but you can't make a definitive conclusion based on sales data alone.
I wonder, are proper citation and critical data analysis such rare skills these days?
