Lahat naman ng Altis at Vios may VVTi engine na.

Mas matipid ang Vios kaysa Altis, but the Altis is bigger, more comfortable, and has more features. Same lang halos ang presyo nila sa secondhand market.

Kung Vios nasa 9 km/L yung Altis nasa 8 km/L. Hindi naman sobrang layo ng consumption especially kung Nova to Lagro lang pala.

Most likely tampered odometer. I wouldn't sell my 2008 Altis for just 300k if it only travelled 60T km.

But that's okay, as long as the car is in good condition, though it's quite unlikely considering the owner bothered to rewind the odometer. Mabuti nang high mileage na fresh kaysa "low mileage" na laspag. Just check the car thoroughly to be sure.

Mileage is not the only factor. A lot depends on where it was used, how it was used, and how it was maintained. It will be a plus if the service records and receipts are complete, all body panels have its original paint, and it is an actual first owner selling.

150K kms for a 2008 vehicle means it ran an average of 18,750kms per year. I do that kind of mileage with my car with my daily drive to work and my regular NLEX weekend runs. I just don't reach 150K because we change our daily drive car every 3-4 years.

My 2009 Altis G has 90T km. You'd be hard-pressed to find any similarly-aged Altis in better condition. It drives as well as my 2015 Altis. Absolutely no rattles, interior still looks and smells fresh, exterior has had no accidents. Mostly highway driven too. Sounds too good to be true, but to see is to believe.



Point is, higher mileage cars don't automatically mean they're in worse condition. [emoji4]

My 2009 Altis G has 90T km. You'd be hard-pressed to find any similarly-aged Altis in better condition. It drives as well as my 2015 Altis. Absolutely no rattles, interior still looks and smells fresh, exterior has had no accidents. Mostly highway driven too. Sounds too good to be true, but to see is to believe.

That is true. Our 2011 Santa Fe had 52tkms on the clock when we bought it a couple of years ago. Looked almost brand new.

But then again, 150tkms is really a bit too high, no matter how well maintained the car is there's bound to be stuff to replace by this point, if they haven't been replaced already. Thorough mechanic inspection would be needed.

I agree that at 150T km, even a well-maintained car will need some parts to be replaced. Of course, the owner would've done most if not all of the necessary replacements if he took care of his car. If not, make sure to identify the parts that will need replacement and haggle to slash it off the selling price.

150K km for a 2008 car is legit if its the only car you have and travel moderate - long distances daily. I say, these mileage are quite common in the US especially in the west coast as most folks usually drive 15-25miles one way going to work, so that's 30-50 miles daily and most have 1 car only. Their cars are usually used to their maximum duty but not abused. Here in the Philippines we rarely see those mileage in private cars (except for rental vans) as most pinoys can afford 2 cars or more thanks to the number coding. Our private cars actually are underused here in my opinion…..

"Most tsikot members" is not equal to "most pinoys".

And again, even with the qualifier of Filipinos with internet access (it's a safe assumption that these are the upper middle classes and above), only 16% of households have more than one car.

Your hypothesis is that most have more than one car. Data refutes the hypothesis. Among car-owning Filipinos, most have only one car. ☺

If you read the fine print on the actual study itself, the sample size comprised only of Filipinos with internet access. Currently that's around 40% of the population.
