Hello po sa inyo! I'm a graduating HS student. BTW i'm 17yrs. old already and will get a non-pro after graduating... Since malapit na ang graduation at sure naman na gragraduate ako ^_^ hehe can I have some advice on what would be the best car for me. Second hand car sana mga 400k budget pero kung may brand new kayong ma susuggest i-suggest nio na rin po . It should be:

a.) FAST. (This is the top priority like other teen drivers out there ^.^)
b.) Room for the barkada (Yung comfortable ung 5 persons)
c.) Good FC (Medyo hindi na priority gaano even though i'll be the one na gagastos sa gas kasi nakakahiya naman sa parents ko na sila gumastos tapos ako gumagamit :D,)
d.) Safe (good handling lang and well built ok na, kahit walang airbag I use seatbelt naman palagi kahit sa loob ng village namin)

I'm not planning on tuning it heavily since i'll be using it daily and doesn't have enough money for mods.
Kung may ibang categories pa kayong gustong idagdag i add nio lang po. TIA!

for you guidance lang iho if granted a car at your (young) age...absolutely no failing grades for a start, no extension of terms in your course (if 4 years stick to it), apply for a job after finishing your course then buy your car with your hard-earned money...definitely sarap ng feeling ng ganun hindi lang ikaw pati parents mo.

if sumablay ka in one of those conditions, don't you think sayang naman ang sasakyan ipinagkaloob ng mababait na parents mo not unless they don't mind or your family can very much afford it w/o imposing certain restrictions...good for you and goodluck!

Glad you're getting your first car! Make sure you work hard with your studies to deserve it! If speed with fuel efficiency is your top priority, you'd be looking at the Hondas then. The ES Civic should do nicely enough. The facelifted version looks quite nice both inside and out and the 130hp VTEC3 engine is both fuel efficient and powerful. For a new driver like you, I believe a top speed of around 200-210km/h should be enough?

And if fuel efficiency is not a big concern, there is the Ford Lynx 2.0RS. Extremely good performance and handling, among the best in its time. Just ask Sir Niky.

The ES is boring. We had the 2.0R version of the ES (One of the first buyers).

    Here's one for the 2004 Civic VTi-S (2.0i-VTEC look) for a negotiable 418k

And a 2005 Ford Lynx 2.0RS for 380k (with quite a lot of add-on features)

Well, everything lesser than Re-VGT is boring for you now. But then the EK is old, and the FD is not yet within budget. So were stuck with this one and the 1.6L only at that. But what do you think of the Lynx RS?

    Lynx RS is good.

    Hindi talaga ES.

Anything lesser than the R-eVGT? Actually, no. I still like the 2.0S-L version of the FD. Makabawi lang ng konti kukuha ulit ako ng FD (used 2.0S-L in carbon bronze metallic or pearl white mica)..

oopps! or Corolla Altis 2.0V CVT-i

Eh bat mo naman nirerecommend yung ZZ Altis? Eh di mas lalong boring in terms of performance kumpara sa ES Civic since this one already has the highest power output among the 1.6L compacts. And I can't think of any else that has some measure of performance but is still fuel efficient that is newer than the SiR. But boring? Etong article about the Civic nakakatuwa oh.

Having driven both, I'd get the ES over the Altis unless you prefer hauling people. Altis is more luxurious interior-wise but the Civic ES wins on the handling and suspension.

I don't like the Altis' brakes. It bites too hard unlike the Civic where the brake feel is more natural. For the looks, definitely the ES. It looks classic Honda. Just swap the rims out for some clean-looking 17 inchers and it looks great!

The Altis 1.8G has pure leather seats, but I really hate the abundant use of faux wood on the panels (and steering wheel). On the otherhand, I don't like the steering wheel material on the ES. Talagang plain soft-touch plastic lang. My brother ended up reupholstering the entire interior into leather/leatherette for around 60k * Banawe (mahal since it's of good quality naman eh )

If your priority is performance and driving experience, i recommend civic. If you can save a bit on the car so you can purchase some simple mods, i would recommend it. The joy of driving out of the shop after installing a new sport intake or exhaust system (or both) is unforgettable

Decals and stickers will also go a long way in terms of adding your personality to the car.

However, my smart, mature advice would be to get the money, buy an ultra cheap car (if you absolutely need one), and invest the rest.

No, the EK Civic SiR is a good 30hp more powerful than the ES Civic VTi-S. I didn't recommend it to you, since it will be hard to look for a unit that has not been modified and raced and also due to the lack of safety features in the car like ABS and airbags. But it is very fast, even in stock form.

It depends on the which variant of the Galant you are pertaining to. The 2.0L inline 4 variants are slow, while the 2.5V6 is fast but with bad fuel mileage. And also, since it is an executive sedan, even if the price is already low, maintenance and parts are still expensive.

Won't you consider the Lynx 2.0RS? Its got good looks, is fully kitted to the roof, has very solid engine performance, great handling and can be had for just 300+k.

" if you wanna race, take it on the track. don't do it on the streets. "

if you want something fast. get the SiR. beware, not all are credible units. meaning, iba laspag na. raced. that's why you should look really into the unit you're buying. better off stock.

the other said choices are rather boring. though newer, they're more of a city car than a sunday car which you can take to its limits on wide open roads ... sctex. :naughty2: with a little bit of excitement. :diablo: kicked in yo.

just a piece of advice though. doesn't mean that you own an SiR, you're invincible. you're unbeatable. heck, please stop revving from now and then. wastes gas.

someone is always faster than you. rev ka ng rev diyan pag nakatabi ka ng corolla, baka ikaw pa kainin ng buhay niyan pag naggreen na. 4AGE ftw.

and yes, even a 1.3L corolla can beat an SiR. 4EFTE ftw. Hahaha.
